I actually enjoyed this episode i love the scheming between varys and tyrion how varys has actually came back to be a strong role compared to what he's been like the past few seasons.
Enjoyed the beheading was so happy them stupid lovey scences are over with greyworm.
Enjoyed the suprise of the dragon getting insta killed. Don't think a single person expected that lol.
Thought the drinking and party at the beginning was decent and how i would imagine something like that would go down in those times after a big war.
Things i wasn't too sure on was:
- why was there no explaination about arya? Like everyone just was like WOOO!! the hero!! but not a single question of WTF happened???
- How did all of the millions of undead bodies dissapear over night? i mean there was tons of them dead last episode and they somehow cleared it all overnight to create pyres for the dead? (also only like 30 fire pits lol asif that would have been enough)
- I dont understand how dany was going full speed at euron and then 1 second later she was facing the other way above her own ships lol
Honestly, i think this whole season is just going to revolve around arya and the hound. Everybody else is play fighting and then arya will sneak kill cersi and hound will smash the mountains face in to end the series. Would be pretty sad if they did that and gave arya all of the glory for NK and Cersi but it seems like that is what they're setting up with them just running astray from winterfell solo.
edit: Also was it just me or did Theon and Edd look extremely ginger this episode lol. Like sansa ginger?

I honestly have been thinking it was too easy and NK is still out there. The whole.thing was a diversion to make them think they won

If that's how it works the NK should have collapsed when the children of the forest died since they created him.

whoever decided it was a good idea to shorten the final seasons needs to be blacklisted from hollywood outright. this show needed 10 seasons, not 6+2 dinked seasons.
The Night King marching south should have been an entire season and then the Cersei confrontation+the spring should have been another season. not 3 episodes total.

I think they also needed a full season to gradually turn Dany into Mad Queen and have a slow and building strain on her relationship with John. Its just too rushed now.

This episode single-handedly makes me change my mind about Dany.
They treat her like chopped liver, she loses ANOTHER dragon because scorpions are now OP and don't need to hit a dragon in the eye (and are heat seeking OP naval battle weapons), best friend gets whacked, and everyone is now stupid.
I changed my mind. I want Dany on that throne, and I want her to literally light every single mother fukker on fire. Finish what the Night King started. Dracaris.
Dracaris on fukking everybody.

Let me try and pull your point from your scathingly edgelord comment that made me reel so hard I literally flew into a wall. You're saying that you wanted the Night King dying to be the closure of the series, he wasn't. Then you say you weren't happy about a kid being the one to kill the Night King because it wasn't realistic enough for you.
First of all, what else could you want done with the Night King? He killed a dragon and brought it back from the dead and rode it into a battle against other dragons, how do you give more satisfaction than that? We had a movie length battle with dragons and the biggest Armies in the world and it somehow wasn't enough because trebuchets were in the wrong place and some soldiers were on the wrong side of a pit? It would be unreasonable to expect 3+ hours worth of episodes to be dedicated to a single battle, it would get boring.
As for Aryia, we got occasional glimpses into what happened to her over the course of 10+ years in world time, what we did see was her training with the most renowned swordsman in the world, living hard on the streets, killing people, learning from the most deceptive and strategically smart person in the world in the form of Tywin Lannister, learning from a master assassin while living on the streets, forming a relationship and learning from one of the most brutal enforcers in the Seven Kingdoms then living on the streets blind and training with the Waif and spending more time with an assassin to a god to the point that she could wipe out an entire house by wearing the face of its leader. You should be able to read between the lines there and assume that she learned a lot more over the course of almost a decade that we didn't see.
To the East of the GoT world is a place called the dead wastes in Asshai, where people like Melisandre come from. Its not uncommon for people there to wield magic, Melisandre's magic was basic bish mud hut magic compared to the chit that comes from there. Jaqan clearly showed Arya some of that for her to be able to make use of peoples faces the way she does so it isn't too unreasonable to expect her to be able to sneak her way past a fukking zombie with its back turned (who was expecting a dragon to be guarding the only entry way to the Elder Wood, which Jon distracted for Arya to slip by) using some of that training. They can use peoples faces to literally become that person using magic but its out of the realm of possibility that they can't use that same level of magic to become undetectable for a short time?
How hard do you need it spoon fed to you? They showed Jaqan do it, then they showed the Waif do it, then they showed Arya do it in the same episode she used it to kill the Night King.
The "little girl 360 no scope" learned from the most underhanded, smart, devious, dangerous and vicious people in the world for the better part of a decade. I think she was probably more equipped to kill the Night King with a stroke of lucky opportunity than a regular guy with a sword in a field.
So no, I don't think you do understand the basic concept of what a story is. 'If I didn't explicitly see it then it didn't happen and is stupid' isn't how it works. There are parts of story telling that are open to interpretation, you're supposed to figure some of it out on your own and the writer won't always fill in the blanks for you.

- Bronn was exactly what a cutthroat should be, and him reminding them that this is how some of the big families came to power was a good reality-check for Jaime/Tyrion
- They gave Ghost a better send-off than just "well, died in the dark", poor beaten down puppy :[
- Jon is framed pretty well as the tragic hero (stuck between a rock and a hard place), as he must be true to himself, but also wants to do right by Daenerys, there is basically no good option left, Bran giving him the option of saying or not made it a good fork in the story and decisive moment
Criticism
- Brienne/Jaime was chit, it was a silly payoff on Brienne crushing on him, Jaime respected her, a pity-fuk is really a terrible choice, especially if he turns around 8 hours later and rides of to Cersei, who just sent Bronn after her
- Daenerys really didn't think about circling the Eurons fleet in safe distance and burn them up from behind? Their ballistas were front-mounted, what were they gonna do? Shoot through their own masts? Also I doubt they have full clearance, so ... just come from straight up?

I'm disappointed in the Jon/Aegon reveal. I thought "Man, how in the world will his sisters react to this? ". I expected some awesome dialogue and emotion and chit, but then Jon just leaves it to Bran and the scene ends.
That was not very gangsta.

Why has this show turned into a second rate soap opera? So disappointing.
The writing is poor and lazy and the brilliant character development of GRRM which was present in the early series is thrown out if the window to necessitate a plot which isn't even worth the time. Jon who United the North, Wildlings, came back from the dead etc etc is pussy whipped by an entitled brat. Jaime's character development thrown out of the window along with Bronn's for the sake of a **** plot. Varys suddenly will do anything for the realm whatever the cost to himself? What?!
Oh and the military geniuses who decided to charge the Dothraki an unstoppable land army straight into the dead thereby gifting them to the army of the dead, having their queen fly directly over the battle and end up surrounded by the dead now decide to sail to dragonstone before their army is resupplied apparently forgetting that Cersei has the greatest naval fleet in the world at her disposal. Honestly this show is ****ing garbage at this point.
Oh and after sending Danny and Jon out to be surrounded by the undead just to be saved by sheer luck, they march up to meet Cersei not with a whole army but with about 60 unsullied and their queen at the front just so that they can be present to react to Turion and cerseis afternoon soap opera moment and the death of Missandei who inexplicably ended up prisoner for no reason other than to necessitate this crappy crescendo ending. Honestly the idiocy of the perceived good guys really means the only way I'll be happy is if Cersei wins and then just blows up Kings Landing with wildfire just for a laugh

People aren't bitching about the show because they want to bitch. That was true back in seasons 1-4 and somewhat in 5 and 6.
7 and 8 are new lows for got and they are basically a slap in the face to fans who have been watching the series for a decade. D&D got paid and they're out, no fuks given. Time to get some disney money, later nerds.

I'm leaving for Ireland this week. we're going to tour all the filming locations in Northern Ireland and these last few episodes have about ruined it for me. if this was any other show I would have just checked out until the last episode just to see the end.

As much as the fans and the creative minds behind the show want to blame fastidious nerds for ruining their fun, it's not just them. I've heard the complaints from most people I know IRL who watch the show.
The show is still good in some ways. The music and production have always been incredible. But it has to be more than that.

I enjoy the sheer work that went into these episodes - they shot 11 weeks during night time, -14 degrees, nerds go: "boooooh, it doesn't align with my fan-fiction!!!"
Meanwhile: "Avengers fights were the best thing ever!!!!"

Just finished the ep.
LOL.
This show has become feminist trope aimed at 18yr old girls. First half of the ep is a series of romance novels.... and the latter half is all the men in show prostrating themselves before women. Jaime and Brienne???? Really???
And then we'll have the big battle next week that will wow all of the plebs so that they forget about this bullchit lol.
lol @ lovestruck Gendry
lol @ Jon just abandoning Ghost
lol @ heat-seeking scorpion bolts (except when they fire a dozen at Drogon and they all miss)
lol @ Jamie & Brienne scene
lol @ how stupid Tyrion sounds now
lol @ ninja Bronn sneaking in & out of Winterfell so easily
lol @ GRRM for even allowing himself to be associated with these hack writers

What pissed me off the most was how jon handled ghost. First his direwolf get sent in battle with the dothraki to all get wiped out.
Then he miraculously survives, although with battle wounds all over.
Did jon get happy that ghost is still alive, like he did when he saw ghost again after he went missing north of the wall? No.
Did jon at least pet its head and tell him he's a good boy before sending him off? No.
He just fooked outta there like he didn't give a chit. Wtf mane.

They absolutely mailed it in, no effort. Ghost should have been at his side every time we saw him sitting at the table in the great hall of winterfell, with him when he went north of the wall, etc. Ghost should have been at his side pretty much the entire series except for when he was captured by Mance Rayder and the wildlings. This show has become complete garbage.

And then on top of that they made Jon send him off without even saying goodbye or directly acknowledging him in any meaningful way. Dogs are theeasiestplot device to get an audience emotionally invested and they just said “nah, fuk that” instead. This show is generating billions of dollars and there are dragons flying all over the place and making A-10 strafing runs on zombies—don’t tell me they didn’t have room for Ghost in the CGI budget (completely ignoring the fact they could just use a real wolfdog like they have in the past).
And relief washes over me in an awesome wave

The people would be happier under Cersei in comparison. Bet she sold off the Sept of Baelor as an accident or something.
