Yeah Rhaegal's death sounds dumber the more I think about it.

The should be near impossible to hit a moving target on a moving ship at that range, even if they got snuck up on. But they hit him 3 times. Euron is apparently the ancestor of Steph Curry.

First two episodes of this season were actually quite promising but now I see why they decided to only add half a season. These writers would not be bale to carry on much longer on their own.

Positives of this episode:

brb Dany turning mad angle and Clarke's acting is surprisingly on point. None of this chitSpoiler!

brb Sansa putting that pin on Theon hit me in the feels.
brb Theon and Varys scheming.


Negatives:

brb Jamie and Brienne smashing was a mistake. Their relationship was much more interesting when there was that comradely with some sexual tension there.
brb Bran is now a vegetable.
brb Cersei being overly dramatically mustache-twirling evil with that smirk
brb Moving on from the whole NK thing in 2 minutes. What was even the point of that storyline? Doesn't feel like a threat to the world with any consequence other than a couple of characters dying.
brb Stealthy pirate fleet
brb 3 or 4 scorpions shoot down one dragon but as Dany gets much closer not a single one hits her dragon.
brb John telling Sam he was the best friend he ever had and Ghost is there hearing it all like 'really man?' and John doesn't pet him or say anything.

Things I didn't mind:

brb Bronn sneaking in I really didn't mind. Everyone is lucky to be alive and is celebrating. I can see how they wouldn't be thinking about guarding themselves from an assassin after battling a million monsters where any one of them could die.
brb Jamie leaving. Didn't sound to me like he went back to her. More like he blamed her for his own evil and he went to kill her.
brb Scorpions being stronger was showcased in an earlier season when one destroyed a dragon skull. These are scorpions 2.0 that don't need to hit the eye. It is problematic that such a weapon can be made and mass produced, basically rendering dragons useless.

I agree with you so much. I don't mind if Dany gets killed although I want her on the throne. What bothers me are the characters not being themselves anymore.

When Tyrion confronted Cersei to get her to surrender, he gave a long, maybe heart-felt speech about how she's not a monster, etc.

Yet when Sansa asks him why he supports Dany, he goes blank, herp derp "I believe in her?" I'm thinking, wtf after 2 seasons of seeing what Dany is about, actually being there at her side and witnessing, you can't muster a few words on Dany's behalf?

Not that he needed to, Dany did save Winterfell's arse. She should've just attacked KL in season 7 like she wanted to, and let the WW kill the idiots in the North.

Now we just going to have sex between characters all over the place?
That's how I know we have dumb TV show writers wrapping things up. Anytime ideas have run out, default plan is to add sex scenes between main characters. Next we'll see Arya and Brienne together laughing about how they are 100% sure of being lesbos.

Speaking of Tyrion and Cersei, you know the real Cersei would have let arrows fly towards Tyrion. But maybe she's changed her heart since she knows it was Lady Tyrell who poisoned Joffrey.

Jon Snow can't keep a fukin secret either. got dayum.

What I am saying is that AT LEAST THAT PART is still true to the show overall.

i thought for sure she would light his ass up. She fukkin HATES Tyrion. And then for his little speech trying to appeal to her better nature? You fukkin what? WHY WOULD HE THINK THAT WOULD WORK? That is a very not Tyrion thing to do. The real Tyrion knows she's an evil cutthroat and would gladly turn him into a pincushion.

I cannot stand what Tyrion has become. He's like a shell of his former self. I think we all hold onto hope that he somehow gets back to the smart, witty, politically savvy Imp that we grew to love in seasons 1-4. I've never been so heartbroken over a characters non-death before.

Endgame had exactly zero payoffs, they literally introduced timetravelling plot ketchup which opens up endless possibilities, so pretty much everything was inconsequential. But I digress.

Twists before the Dumb & Dumber idiots took over the writing were used to RESOLVE previously built-up plot threads. Cersei & co. were perfectly willing to let Ned take the Black and leave, but since they didn't think of putting a leash on Joffrey, the salty sociopath ordered Ilyn Payne to behead him, and they couldn't overrule him in the open. It was an in-character move for everyone.

Similar with the Red Wedding.

Now it's very obvious, that they START with the "twist" and then work their way backwards and try to make sense of it. Which of course is bs as they just throw out any and all build-up and previous characterization.

"K, Dany's too strong with two dragons, what do we do?"
"Teleporting invisible ninja pirate fleet with scorpions, sniping one of them from the skies"
"Genious. What else?"
"Cersei should get another ally, Dany and co are still too strong."
"Jamie it is."
"Hmm, won't some of the viewers whine about another heel-turn for Jamie's character?"
"Nah, remember he said in Ep2 that he would do it all over again for his family, no ragrets."
"That's why I love you."

My thoughts on how Dany deals with Euron based on the preview:

Spoiler!
Euron looks up at the clouds and hears a Dragon. It seems like Dany/Drogon will stay above the clouds for cover and dive straight down to attack Euron. I don't think the Scorpions can shoot directly upwards.
