I never understood the hate for season 2 of The Wire. Maybe because the Sobotkas weren't as interesting as the Barksdale or Marlo's crews but it was still spectacular. Its still probably the worst season out of the 5 but it still shyts on 95% of the seasons from any other Tv show

He said "forgot about them" in a sense of "took her eyes off them".
It is ridiculous to "take your eyes off" your main enemy when they have pulled the same trick before. It's simply bad writing.

I think you're being overly critical of the drop off. I read the books between S1 and S2 for GOT and it was a great series. I have always kept my expectations for TV or film different than literature bc the translation is near impossible. Meeting everyone's expectations for a book to TV series is not doable no matter who is the director or author. D&D attempted the first 8 season long high fantasy political drama I've ever heard of and have done a very good job overall imo. I think the last 2 seasons are well above average TV and the first 6 are amazing. In my estimation it is not possible to finish this series without a full 10 to 11 year run without any budget limitations. That's not how the real world works. While HBO wanted 10 years but they weren't giving out a blank check.
Has anyone with major complaints ever bothered to complain to GRRM as it's his fault the showrunners aren't meeting his level of writing? Someone also needs to explain how the genius creator himself can't find the time or energy to finish a 7 book series he started outlining in 1991.

And to be clear... I hate GRRM for pretty much giving up on the books at this point. I always contrast him to James Corey (guy who writes the Expanse novels). He’s realeased a book every year or two and hasn’t been distracted by the fact that they made a show out of it too.

honestly, i think what was more rediculous than Euron shooting Rhaegal out of the sky was the fact Cersei simply let them go at the end.
Dany, Tyrion, a couple unsullied, and her last dragon show up at the gates alone. Everyone she needs to kill in order to end the game of thrones and ensure her crown. But somehow, the most ruthless **** alive, who blew up the fuking Septum Baelor, somehow found the honor to honor a parlay. absurd IMO. She should have launched every arrow
and ballistae at them in that moment.

For me it's still one of the best TV shows ever, I really loved it up until the very end. ymmv
You know the writing is good when Jai fuking Courtney is actually a compelling character you can root for.

Only thing you really missed from the later seasons was Battiatus.

Agree that GRRM clearly hit writers block though. He made his story too big and now can't finish it.
All the stuff that he planned hasn't occurred - the 5 year time skip (which would have been used to explain Arya coming back as an assassin - 5 years being taught by the Faceless Men instead of a few months, etc) - he gave up on it as he realised he was writing too many flashback scenes to explain the intervening 5 years.
The story got away from him. it's a shame, but that's how it is.
Positive Crew - will never neg.
Actually Lifts Crew - will always rep lifting vids when posted.
Stand Up And Prosper people - one way or another, everybody here will make it.

The journalism storyline was boring. It was too cut and dry on who were the good guys and who were the bad guys. No ambiguity whatsoever in a show that was popular for its shades of grey.
