But yeah, it was goofy seeing the Night King be vanquished by a parlor trick.

Can’t believe they couldn’t make it 8 episodes long to at least not shiet rush every big point when they literally spent entire episodes narrating the story before. Such a big let down. They literally did the cookie cutter story line you see in Disney movies. What happened to scenes like battle of the bastards? Bruh I am disappoint.

If that's the case then I'm surprised that HBO just didn't give the show to someone else to finish.... unless D&D bought the television rights?
Even so.... that's piss poor. And just another inidication that....
a) they don't care about their audience.
and
b) they obviously underestimated how difficult it was going to be to follow GRRM's writing.

GRRM barely helped with the tv series, it was all d&d and their staff.

the part where they messed up in the tv series is dumbing down dorne and euron. i think the young griff stuff is unnecessary. but dumbing down euron was a bad decision. i've read what he does in the books. they would definitely need another 2 seasons i think if they added this stuff. way back when.
as a tv adaptation it is still damn ****ing good tv. what they adapted is perfect.

i personally want d&d to put as much effort into adapting the eric nylund halo fall of reach novels. they can do whatever the **** they want after ghost of onyx.
lets be real though. let's say all the asoiaf books were finished. they would have made the best tv series of the century.

lol at these autistis now not even giving D&D credit for making seasons 1-6
and this ending is already 10x better than the 3rd Lord of the Rings which was practically unwatchable.

1) Have the NK and his army overwhelm Winterfell and kill about half of the main characters there.
2) Have a couple of eps where the survivors flee to Iron Islands to regroup and then head down south.
3) Have Cersei FINALLY realize the error of her ways and join the fight once the army of the dead surrounds King's Landing (or have Jaime or Tyrion kill her).
4) Massive final battle with all of the survivors vs. the undead army again (with Bran possibly playing a pivotal role in the NK's defeat).
5) Perhaps a final ep where the survivors (if there are any) finally decide who will sit on the Iron Throne (or maybe they just ditch the throne altogether).
How hard was that?

Too bad it just took Dany and some of the North to win it.

Season 7 should have showed hbo that d&d are nowhere near as good at coming up with their own material. HBO shouldn't have moved forward with d&d for season 8 and the fact that hbo offered additional seasons, d&d declined, and HBO still went with d&d is HBO's fault.
So I still stand by the opinion that HBO is at fault for not dropping d&d for season 8. But on the other hand I don't have suggestions for who they should have used instead as writers. So ultimately it is what it is.
