Actually this. Transferring funds and being active with my finances is a great time killer and enjoyable. Especially when you forget that you worked a few more hours of OT so you're rolling in a few hundres spare laying around.

salary brah here, so no overtime. payday is a little boring, but it is nice to see those thousands roll into the bank account.

40 hr/week salary crew here. Certainly should be active as far as keeping an eye on investments, but I would say if you have time to kill you need a hobby or something. I probably log into my account about once a month, get texts for any withdrawals/deposits.

My hobby on paydays is looking at my financials. Dont need to get one, already got one.

40hr/week salary + OT pay here so when we're slow we get our 40 no matter and when we're slammed we get paid for the effort.

I like looking at spend history, forecasting future needs, transferring cash to kids accounts if they need it, and just find it pleasing to actually have money to do chit with. I was fairly poor (relatively speaking) until my early-30's (two kids early, house, wife stayed home, graduate tuition, made like $40k, etc) and I'll never forget what trying to balance bill due dates with pay days, stressing about outstanding checks, etc was like. My kids will never know that stress if I can help it.

Sorry boyo, while I remember the struggles vividly, I have to take care of my own first. Just spent a boatload of money renovating the house so that if my parents or in-laws need to come live with us in their last years (rather than a nursing home), it will be as comfortable and private for them as possible.
