I think I need to just try a little every day. Hopefully at some point I get the suckers in and get used to it.

Nope. I have a very weak prescription as it is. I'd be way too scared of something happening to my eyes if I got LASIK.

Nah I doubt it. I think the other guy is probably more compatible with her culture and they have mutual friends vouching for him etc. They only started dating a week or two before she met me. But ye, I wasn't going for long term with her - seemed like we both aligned on that.

I don't think she wanted me to stay, she's the one that wanted it to end sooner (I thought it would last another few weeks until she left). I think she was still attracted to me, but her conscience was bothering her and couldn't continue.

I'm glad we dated though, learning more little things about what's important to me. Even stuff that seems silly - like I took out the trash earlier and noticed the bag over my bathroom bin wasn't loose like it normally is. She had tied a little knot to make it fit. Seems stupid, but little homey things like that mean a lot and would complement me well.

having a weak prescription is a good enough reason to not get it, but LASIK has been around for a very long time and the only thing that has changed is the machines they use a much more precise. If you go through all the preliminary exams and your personal optometrist gives you the thumbs up then nothing bad gon' happen. I had LASIK 4 or 5 years ago and I don't regret it. I do regret paying too much, tho.

How much you paid for it?

And do you look better without glasses?

I ended up paying like $3800 for it, but I bought some lifetime guarantee package where I can go back in and get a retreatment for free at any time if my vision needs correction. It sounded nice at the time but I think it's kind of pointless.

and I used to wear glasses, hated it. Switched to contacts. Contacts were uncomfortable and cumbersome for me so I got LASIK. As far as whether I look better with or without glasses, I did pick up a nice pair when I had to wear glasses for a month before my procedure. They made me look good, no lie. However I think glasses-free is overall a better look for me. I think I just don't have the right head shape or face frame for glasses.

Yeah I feel like the glasses I have make me look different than without it and because I have a strong prescription, they make my eyes look weird which can be off-putting to people especially women. Also they give me a portrayal that I don't really like.

How did it feel having a laser in your eyes?

So I'm not upset but I'm... exhausted in a sense. Just really hit me that ive been living in a large city, going to school, and working at bar for since new years. I've been on 1 date and she ghosted me after. Every other attempt has resulted in a rejection or slow fade.

Meanwhile my associates are still playing. I expect no advice or etc.

Yeah, maybe he'll do better in Cali (maybe not the Bay Area since I've heard it's pretty bad there dating-wise).

I wonder if a Caucasian manlet will do better in the South???

How did it feel having a laser in your eyes?
I didn't feel anything at all. They use some suction on your eye to keep it held in place and it kind of numbs your eye a bit. Your eye blacks out for a bit, too so you can't see much briefly. It's normal. I feel like I do remember seeing a bit of the laser action, though. It's kind of crazy! However they give you some meds to relax you a bit so you dgaf what's going on.

Honestly I would recommend it if you're tired of glasses or contacts. Otherwise if you're fine with things then just save your money

Yeah, I understand that it's been around for a long time and seems to have good results. I don't know. I just have a hard time with thinking about anything happening to my eyes. I have horrible luck, so knowing my luck I'd be that whatever percent that it goes wrong.

I've thought about Lasik, but if you look into it it's not as complication-free as they like to make you think. Check this:
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/06/11/w...ns-vision.html
Double-digit complication rates such as uncomfortable dry eyes and poor night vision that are permanent.

If you ever get dry eyes, I would avoid it. I do, so I do. There's been quite a few suicides even from people with chronic painful dry eye. Small chance you'll have any problems that bad but my contacts aren't *that inconvenient.

Yeah its all about practice with contacts. At first It's almost impossible getting them in since your eyelid is fighting against you trying to stick something in your eye . My optometrist sat down with me and made me put them in and out a few times before I left and it definately gets easier, i can get them out in about 5 mins now after 4 days using them. Try to put them on the whites of your eye and slide them up, maybe that will be easier.

Why do I literally only get dates with foreign women?

I have had only 3 dates this year and all 3 have been foreign women (Austrian, Canadian and american)

The last date was this Wednesday just gone with the american. We met at a bar and she did the first round and wanted to drink doubles. We stay there drinking for an hour and have 3 drinks. We make mostly small talk but slowly we start to loosen up thanks to the doubles.

She's hungry and wants to get food, we bounce to several places and they're not serving food (it's like 11pm) so we end up at a hooka bar. I carry on drinking doubles (she switches to beer) we kiss a bunch and hold hands as we chat and joke around. We're there for about 2 hours before She suggests we leave and I agree.

We're walking back to her apartment as she lives 15 minutes away and every so often we stop to make out and she's telling me I need to leave by 7 am since she has work etc. She then starts freaking out a bit, like she says I need to go home and that I'm weird (I am weird, I've been an FA for 12 years) Then we're making out again, and then she's freaking out again. Then we're kissing again etc. She keeps calling me weird but keeps kissing me lol.

She then leaves and goes home and I'm left like wtf. It's 2:30 am and order an uber and go home.

She messages me the next day in the morning telling me She called in sick and missed all her meetings. I see this as a good sign and message back. I then ask her out again, this time for food (since we tried last time and failed) she says sounds good. I ask when she's free next week and she tells me she's lost her bank card and out of town all next week. I'm pretty sure she's ghosting me

It's worth the trade off though. He's such a great pupper and he's good company. It's so awesome coming home every day and he's so excited to see me. I would be so much more lonely without him.

Yeah, I had to put them in at the optometrist and it felt like it took forever but I managed. Then the next day at home it took a gazillion tries on my left eye and when I couldn't do it within about 20 tries the next day I gave up. For some reason it's way harder with my left eye.

Why do I have trouble posting in this thread, but not others?

Ahhhh, it finally worked! lol

Was trying to quote SS and say that I'm lonely for both. I don't want to be busy every weekend, but it would be nice to have friends to hang out with even like once a month. It's really hard when you're my age and everyone is in couples/families and busy.

Bothers me too sometimes with my friends and sister because I would love to spend more time with them going out without the kids. They do agree to that sometimes but they would really always rather do stuff with the kids. Which makes everything revolve around the kids and it’s hard to have an adult conversation.

Sucks but I’ve just accepted that this is how it is for now. Until the kids get older and won’t want to hang out with us anymore lol.
Even at my age that's true. I don't live near my close college friends, but sadly I've had more and more trouble staying in touch. A bunch of them have kids now, and I understand how that consumes you. Another is married but seems obsessed with his career now, so he can't seem to make time to even call.

I feel like the only static thing I have in my life is my parents, who are old.
