That was the only good part about the entire episode - Jon pet Ghost. The rest of it was laughable. It was a complete sidestep from previous seasons and went against everything that made this show what it was.

- Bran talks about how he can't be Lord of Winterfell (or anything for that matter as he is Three-Eyed Raven), brb he accepts the position as King even stating "Why do you think I came all this way?"
- Arya decides to turn into Christopher Columbus and randomly set sail to the further-west
- Without any question the North gets segregation from Seven Kingdoms but no one else thinks to asks and just accepts it and goes "ok"
- Cercei and Jaime get crushed by rubble yet somehow Tyrion is able to get in there, see their bodies and there is rubble under them?

I can go on and on, but it wouldn't achieve much. Fact of the matter is, this season was a complete letdown and they had two years to perfect it. I don't doubt that there will be many similarities to what GRRM has in mind, but it came down to execution. The writing this season was lazy, rushed and completely void of logic and intellect.

It catered to looking pretty and trying to wrap-up the series.
Yep. Binge watched the first 7 seasons before this one. S1-6 are so good...and you can see the drop off in S7, and S8 was just a mess.

S7 & S8 were like any low tier drama on TV

Tyrion crying over Jamies body, and Bronn talking about brothels was the other good parts along with Ghost. Of course they even have to phuck up Ghost, he looks exactly the same as months ago when Jon said goodbye from far away.

What a shame.

First off, there is no fuking way the Unsullied wouldn't just kill Jon for what he did. The Unsullied are not afraid of war, plus they have the Dothraki on their side so there is not way in hell they lose that battle against the North men and whoever else they can muster up.

They made Bran king LOL. Makes absolutely no sense.

Sansa is the WORST character. The whole point of the North wanting to be independent from the Seven Kingdoms is because they didn't trust them. Now that Bran is ruler, Sansa has no reason not to trust her own brother. She basically just wanted to rule the North. And I hate her smug attitude.

The highlight of the episode was Jon finally petting Ghost.

All said and done, I'm gonna miss coming into this thread and chitting on this show with you guys. Fuk D&D

The bittersweet ending in D&D's eyes was: Dany becoming crazy ---> Jon having to kill his lover to save the realm

I always suspected it would be something like that as soon as I heard "Bittersweet"

Are people really mad about Arya sailing off? She mentioned it in one of the previous seasons that she wanted to explore "West of Westeros".

Yup. No logic, the writers just will it so. Kinda like with Drogon just flying away and not retaliating. He has the intelligence to burn the throne, but not the guy that killed his master. I'm sure the "Jon is a Targaryen" cop out works nicely there.

Emilia Clarke was legit the best part of this season, and I still had some level of feels when she got stabbed. Will make rewatches a sad experience.

I thought Brianne was gonna write Jamie fathered someone cus she got pregned, continuing the lannister lineage, that would have been slightly decent.

S7 is still pretty good compared to this, I think it dropped it quality but it still felt like GoT and with a full-length season it didn't feel as rushed, still kept true to character arcs and actually followed a good pace of progressions.

Good points. I forgot about Tyrion mourning and the Bronn scene was good too.

On the other side, Sansa could've told Jon go to Winterfell and chill, the Unsullied and Dothraki would never know different, they're gonna leave anyway. Plus, as if they'd follow Bran and the council, they would've just revolted and torn down the rest of King's Landing in retaliation.

I think D&D need to look-up the definition of bittersweet.

The real question I have is...

Why didn't Jon just marry Daenerys and rule with her as king and queen? No matter what body part he would think with; dick, head, or heart, it was a good idea. Let's look at the pros and cons:

Pros:
-Daenerys gets to be queen just like she wanted.
-Jon gets to be King just as the story built him up to be and solves the whole "rightful heir to the throne" plot.
-Jon bangs Daenerys, so she doesn't go psycho. We all know that not getting laid makes people do crazy things.
-Jon gets to smash Daenerys. She's hot so that's a total win for him.
-They're in love, so getting married is a good idea.

Cons:
-Incest, but they already smashed so this one is minor.

You guys gotta call it like it is. They were working off very complex, well written source material... And they decided to finish it up on their own with limited time. Not a surprise the story ended up being a total disaster. Martin May end up taking the story down a very similar path, but the journey there will be better and make way more sense.

It shows that without someone holding their hand and guiding them, they really have no clue and their incompetence showed this season.

Pretty much this, but I'd give Season 8 a 4/10 purely because;
1) The CGI/SFX was amazing
2) The score/soundtrack was incredible
3) The acting was great (Emilia Clarke hnggggggg)

lol I agree with you guys. They missed the part where they have to make us understand both sides, but there's too many plotholes and Dany's turn was ridiculous.

For me

1-4 10/10
5 9/10
6 8/10
7 7/10
8 6.5/10
I guess:

Season 1-4: 10/10
Season 5: 8.5/10
Season 6: 8.5/10
Season 7: 8/10
Season 8: No joke... 4.5/10 (mostly to production values & a few interactions)

Let’s not forget that Benioff was one of the people responsible for this:
