I have a couple of friends in their 30’s

None of them are struggling but all of them look good

One is 33, engaged to a 37 year old lawyer

One is 31 engaged to a 34 year old executive

And the other is a serial dater but she doesn’t seem to be struggling to get dates

I really don’t see it.

I think it’s kind of cope to say “she could have gotten someone better before”

He is a full time student, I don’t mind that. I have parental support and he doesn’t. That’s the only reason I have a nice apartment is because I don’t pay for it.

In a year he will be done with school and start his fellowship so I don’t consider him a bum at all.

We're not discussing who can get sex with who. We're discussing what ages are most attractive for securing partners for marriage, family, etc.

After that age range you're generally going to start compromising on your list of requirements of the other person and end up settling. The longer you wait, the more you settle. The more you settle, the less happy you'll be. If you're a narcissist, you'll refuse to settle at all and end up with a cat collection. You'll still be able to have FWB relationships or ONS with the occasional high value men until all of your remaining attractiveness is gone, but very few women are content with that. One day you'll wake up and find that you're finally invisible to the men you desire and all that is left are the men you never paid attention to in the past. The nice guys. The boring guys. The accountants. Which is what the original video was all about, IIRC. She was justifying her "finally settling for a nice guy" as growing up, instead of her correctly diagnosing the problem as having spent too long wasting time with players and suddenly finding herself in danger of not having any chair at all when the music stops in the game of musical chairs that is her love life.

The things they are rated on don't have to deteriorate. A low body fat athletic male* (with hair) maintains peak for an extended period as wrinkles and some of the other things aren't detrimental to men.

Part of the things women are rated on is "fertility" aka young looks and perky parts. While a woman can build steps to the wall they aren't able to ignore it like a lean male that dodged the norwood reaper.

In reality though it doesn't matter. You take care of yourself the best you can. Eventually you will look stunning compared to your peer that look like a pile of chit.

I guess I don't really know what else to do at this point. The classic marriage and family dynamic seems all but dead. I know some people are still making it work, but few and far between.
