With how cheap reloading components currently are, you're probably better off scrapping the brass. Less hassle than trying to sell them online and you probably won't get much less scrapping it than selling it to someone to reload it. Brass is still worth a decent amount for recycling.

One of the biggest hurdles isn't the technology to do this, it's getting the government to look at it from an intelligent standpoint and allowing people to build rather than just defaulting to the usual "I don't know or understand any of this so I think it's bad and won't put any effort into really getting to the root cause, but I will vehemently oppose it because uneducated dip****s will cry about things they have zero knowledge on.

It literally took me until now to realize that the primary machine everyone is talking about is the same one that I've been drooling over the CO slide for the shadow 2's lol. Well done, good chance you have my business in the future provided I go the CO route rather than Limited.

If you're waiting for the govt to look at anything from an intelligent standpoint . . . you'll probably be waiting awhile.

Shoot CO. You'll have way more fun. The S2 CO package has been absolutely insane. It started with literally one customer with too much money who basically said he didn't care what the price was, make an S2 make CO weight with slide milling only and no other lightening needed via aftermarket parts, etc. From there we realized if people were willing to spend as much as he was ready to drop, there's a serious demand for it. Told him to give us a few weeks to find the time to 3d model an OEM slide so we could see could see where we could really safely take material from and basically offer the package as an "every day" package instead of what would have been an extremely expensive one off custom package.
Within the first week of offering it we had received enough orders for the package that we had to shut down one of our production mills that normally would run barrels specifically to deal with the S2 work load for almost 2 weeks straight. Already, some of the best grand master shooters in the US are using it with many first place finishes in CO division.

I mean, I guess it's alright if you're into ridiculously bad ass pistols and all...

It's 6.5 and. 308, so I'm holding out hope.

I'm probably going to be scrapping my 9mm brass going forward.

Huh?

Are you saying every government in the world is preventing its scientists and engineers from successfully developing this tech in the lab?

'cause getting the governments to allow building it is irrelevant when it doesn't exist lol

I know this, hence the frustration lol. Chances are it's going to take a long time for everyone to realize the current technology we have for solar and wind is nowhere near able to provide the baseload we need and like we have been seeing, leads to nuke plants being shut down prematurely because of current natural gas prices, which is bound to bite us in the ass in the future.

I'd like to think that realizing solar and wind are absolute **** at the moment, with no end in sight, is the easiest of all this. But then I know several people who love the solar panel things they've done and the ROI vs the risk of damage or moving seems pretty poor (some don't have a positive ROI based on what they say even after a decade and I'm just like, y tho)

I didn't have a preference either way for CO vs limited other than not wanting to get into another caliber but I'd for damn sure rather give my business to an small business lol. I know there's a wait right now, biggest thing I'm unsure of is which optic I would want to use, hopefully I'll be able to get my hands on a few different options to give me a better idea, as soon as I make that decision I'll shoot you a pm, much appreciated man.

Deltapoint Pro is the current CO king. Trijicon SRO is also a fantastic option, but requires an expensive adapter plate to be used with the S2 and the rear sights have to be milled off the adapter plate to make weight.

Snagged a once fired Ruger precision rifle in .308 and a S&W M&P-15 22 for $900 total. Came with a custom cut pelican case. My cost for a new RPR is $1,100 paid $750 for this one

Well that definitely makes a difference, also out of curiosity, is there a reason you have people send the optics to you for fitment, asking to see if it could possibly mean if that particular optic went down and a back up of the same make/model could have fitment issues?

Might take some extra elbow grease but having to fit a new optic isn't hard. They aren't made to extremely tight tolerances. We mill our pockets as per the exact optic being put on the gun. Our pockets are milled so precise that with no screws holding the optic in place you can turn the gun upside down, shake it, etc and the optic won't come out the pocket. That's what we're known for and helps extend the life of the optic as well as take a lot of stress off the screws.

Because when you aren't big enough to buy direct from the manufacturer and have to go through distributors like Lipseys, Zanders, etc - you don't get that good of prices.
When you think your LGS is trying to "rip you off" because he's charging $50 more for the Glock that you can get online - he isn't. Little guys make **** money on guns. They keep their doors open (barely) by selling accessories. Period. Average LGS makes **** money on guns and **** money on ammo. Accessories and services are the only things actually profitable. If you haven't noticed, small mom and pop gun ships are slowly fading away (sad as fuk IMO). There's no money to be made and they can't compete. The ones who will make it are the really big multi million dollar facilities that not only sell guns, ammo, etc, but also have ranges, offer services, and what have you.

Agreed including selling firearms. I used armslist and didn't have much luck. They must not get any traffic.

Our local range sells 5 gallon buckets of misc. brass for $50. It's an indoor, 30 yard range so I'd imagine most are pistol cartridges. I reload 9mm, .308, and 6.5. I was thinking I'd organize and sell the rest of the brass but it's prob more hassle than it's worth.

I don't think reloading is cheap at all. Maybe it's different there, but for rifles assuming new brass I'm about 35 cents for a decent bullet, 40 cents for decent brass and around 20 cents for powder. For $1/round, I'm into some decent ammo.

That's literally about exactly what it would be worth scrapping it at your local recycling facility. Maybe even less TBH.

I'd guess so. What do they give you for steel casings? Assuming they take them. I prob have a couple thousand rounds of steel cases in my basement.

Steel isn't worth jack ****. Unless you're scrapping thousands of pounds, it's not worth anything lol.
Last time we made a recycling run here at the shop, I think the going rate for steel was around $250/ton. ...so about 13 cents/lb.

Steel isn't worth jack ****. Unless you're scrapping thousands of pounds, it's not worth anything lol.
Last time we made a recycling run here at the shop, I think the going rate for steel was around $250/ton. ...so about 13 cents/lb.
My MIL has filled me with too much guilt to just toss it. I'll drop it off next time I have a load of cans.

Anyone have any luck with Cabelas brand optics? I put a 6-24x Covenant on my .308 but I'm not sold yet. Can't get the parallax to focus well at full magnification. It was 35 deg and raining so I'm hoping that was part of the issue.

Classic stupid games prize winner

Maybe his buddies will reconsider shooting anything at other people in the future.

At the same time...stay in the house. Your chances of all kinds of **** going sideways and ending badly, all kinds of badly including for yourself being injured or killed, go way up when you go outside to confront them.

Interesting (not really) choice to use the description "teen" in the headline and not man. A 19 year old should ****ing know better, and is an adult...not what you first think of when you see "teen", even if it'stechnicallycorrect
