Lol a lot of you guys are pessimistic as fuk. It's different than living by yourself and has pros and cons. If your girl isn't fuking insane you still have plenty of free time and space to yourself. I'd say the only downside is when you don't live with a girl, it's easier to keep "the spark" because she will miss you during the week and it builds anticipation to see each other. But brb if she cooks that beats the fuk out of eating eggs and oatmeal every night. And if you get along with her well it can be really fun at times.

Like others have said it will test the relationship in ways but ultimately if it fails because you moved in together then it was never meant to be in the first place.

Best decision ever.

Went from spending the night 6 days a week to 7, BUT now half my bills are paid. Just makes sense when you’re together all the time anyway.

I would have legit killed for my last live-in g/f to let the bathroom be a disaster.

She literally could not stop cleaning. It was ****ed. I'd have to go on a scavenger hunt every day because she didn't like where I'd put my shaver and would hide it somewhere like a ****ing packrat. We had empty shelves in every room because she couldn't bear to leave anything out anywhere for a minute. It got to the point we were so hostile over this I'd be storming around the house naked, yelling "WHERE THE **** IS MY ****ING SHAMPOO THIS TIME".

You'd think it'd be magical to have a woman around who insists on being very clean, until you realize how ****ing weird it is that she doesn't just air dry the sheets ("because the sun makes them so fresh") but actually has time to spritz them with lavender oil, then unironically gets upset with her life because she feels overwhelmed.

We tried hiring a housekeeper. That didn't work because she couldn't leave anything for her to do. I'm contemplating necking myself just thinking about all the times I was woken up at dawn by the vacuum cleaner.
Nah, fukk that. I’m not doing that.

hey op all i can tell you is make a rental agreement with her, declare taxes on the rent, that way if **** goes south and she wants to take you to court for common law you are protected. If you listen to anything in this thread, this one could save you a plethora of money and stress.

Same concern OP. I'm lucky enough to where the GF has her living situation planned out for the next year or so, and it won't involve me. But she's definitely wanting to move in sometime in the nearish future. It's exciting to me from a financial perspective to split the rent and utilities, but it's also anger inducing to acknowledge I'll lose my solitude and freedom. Plus I'd have no escape if the relationship winds up in conflict.

I'm 3 year into a relationship and my girl still only comes over on the weekends. I love my alone time. She's pressing the hell outta me to move in too. Think within the next 6 months if I don't allow her it's over. We'll see how it goes...

How old are you? For reference I'm in the first half of 27 and my gf is in the latter half of 26.

I'm a huge introvert too and alone time is invaluable to me but I figure if the relationship is going to last then at some point we're going to move in together, may as well figure out if it's going to work now rather than later

It all depends on your options. Are you a good looking guy who can get girls easily? If so, then bad idea unless you're trying to settle down. if you're ugly or avg then having a gf that you can bang whenever and will cook and clean for you is not a bad tradeoff for her annoying your space.
