I just started cycling and always use the sidewalk whenever it's available. It pisses me off to no end when there's a perfectly good empty sidewalk right next to them yet they choose to impede traffic by riding on the road.

If you want to get bicycles off the road talk to your local council or highway department to build more traffic-free bicycle paths.
Excellent surface, wide enough for passing.

They are inconsistent scum that's why people hate. Idc what the law says if you want all the privileges of bring treated like a vehicle then you gotta deal with the implications as well or people are going to hate your ****ing guts. It's not reasonable to say I can use the road like all other vehicles but then wheel to the front on a red light and not wait your turn.... NOT WHAT OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD DO! you're either a vehicle or you're not, you can't just like a liberal move the goalposts whenever you want or no one will like you. If they were consistent I'd respect cyclists. But they're not. I don't see motorcycles wheeling to the front every time there's a red. I hate nothing more than inconsistency. You cannot have it both ways, not without people hating you

Cyclists piss me off because they pick and choose what rules apply to them and what privileges they feel they deserve, and then have the audacity to give drivers and pedestrians sh!t for things.

They want to be recognized as a vehicle by law and have the right of riding on the road but want the privileges of a pedestrian being able to blow by stop signs, not use signals, never yield, be able to have cars stop for you to cross the street, etc.

I've watched cyclists ride in the exact center of the lane, up a giant hill, during rush hour at about 5km/h. When there was enough room for them to ride in their designated bike lane to prevent this from happening.
I had a cyclists intentionally block all traffic from making a right hand turn because he stopped in the middle of the turning lane to wait for the light to turn green. Just so he could continue on straight.
Most of the time I see 2+ cyclists, they are side by side taking up space in the lane and impeding traffic, when they should have been single file in their biking lane.
I came across a marathon on a two lane highway. It was the only highway for 100 km stretch but it had a bike lane. 1 out of 5 cyclists I passed actually used the bike lane, the rest impeded traffic.

It's good in theory but from what I've witnessed, it doesn't work that great in reality.

I'm an avid cyclists, though I mainly ride downhill/freeride/trails. I will occasionally do long bike rides and when I do, there are certain roads I refuse to bike on. When I do bike on a road, I'm hugging the shoulder as tightly as I can. I don't trust anyone else who is on the road. I don't understand the mentality of some cyclists who think it's perfectly ok to impede traffic and piss of drivers. Who is going to win, a 2000 pound vehicle or their 200 pounds of flesh?

With that said, ya there are cyclists out there who obey the laws, stick to their lane and don't cause issues. They seem to be the exception rather than the rule here.

I had one phuck ride down the middle of the right hand lane in rush hour on the main road in town.

We get to a stop light and I want to turn right.
He's going straight but waits in the middle of the lane. I took my horn asking if he could move up or over he refuses.

So I decide to go around him on his left to make a right on red and the pos moves up just enough to block me. So I try again and he moves up again.

I roll down the window and say hey phuck face I'm just trying to turn right. You've slowed down traffic for 2 miles.

He yells I'm entitled to whole lane and I am taking whole lane.

Phuck all of them.

Literally nothing fuks up a crowded 4 way stop like cyclists...

When you have to watch for cars, pedestrians crossing messing up the order, and then cyclists zooming in and out with no sense of order...

I don't believe that one should be able to just pick and choose what rules apply. Either you're a vehicle or you're not. You can't just act like rules of the road that are applied to actual vehicles shouldn't apply to you when convenient, and should when it is convenient. No one likes people who do that shyt. I will continue sticking my car right to the curb on a red light if there is no designated bike lane. You wanna get treated like a car? Fine, then act like it too.

I have no issues with them. I have a bike and motorcycle so maybe I am sensitive to how big of a dick cars drivers can be.

I ride my bicycle way to the side though and try not to be a jerk.

😁 Just got back from a 50km bike ride, you guys act like all we're all NYC bike messenger crazy. I believe most people in this thread are over reacting. Even today I try to be mindfull and share the road and keep far right, drivers are changing lanes right close to me when there is nothing in front of them in the left lane and they are not making right turns 😂. I'm pretty sure stuff like the below pisses everyone off.

They are legally allowed to use the street as well. Maybe if you have a problem instead of attacking them with your car you can follow them and when they stop, tell them you have a problem face to face like a man. You won't do that though because you have no justification and are just mad someone delayed your daily hub session.
