I've been dating my girlfriend since January. I've been living with my best friend from way back in the day for 2 years now. we just renewed our lease for 5 months. my girlfriend and I have been talking about me moving into her house after my current lease is up. that would be almost a year of us being together. we already spend almost every night together. i'm kinda looking forward too it because i'll be saving hundreds every month on rent.

I get not wanting to rush into living with a GF, but you're insane if you get engaged before having an extended timeframe of living together. You'd be amazed how quick a relationship can derail after moving in together.

You need to know your compatible housemates before you even consider getting engaged.

I have done this twice. One of them was with a girl who stood at my place every weekend for 2 years before she moved in. It was a blast having her over, She lived with me for over a year, everything was great. Until it all went sideways in under 24 hours.

Tread carefully. It is one of the hardest things you'll ever have to do if you have to move her out.

I didn’t live with my wife until after I proposed, so I really had some motivation to make it work. Was def a pain in the ass having a woman living in my former bachelor house. Honestly don’t think it would have worked if I didn’t have that motivation. I still reminisce about the days of cranking one out with the big screen and chitting with the door open. Your going to find that any time she’s out and you have the place to yourself you’ll go full degenerate mode.

She's messy and leaves things laying around, but she likes to clean, whereas I like to tidy, so it works out fine as much as I find her messiness annoying.

If you want to be with her and want to take things to the next step, you gotta get over giving up your space. That's just the way it is.

She has a full time job and a part time job, so she works all the time and only wants to hangout on the weekend. I want to hangout more but she doesnt like it since i go to sleep so early and she stays up later. I moved out of my apartment and rents too high for a studio in chitty place in town. We can get a super nice 2 bed apartment in a nice area for a better price.
