Don't eat or drink anything that wasn't apart of a major restaurant or at the resort srs. Blows my mind how many people accept food from total strangers when traveling. You wouldn't even do that in the states fkn lol

Been to DR 4 times so far, twice last year. this is crazy to hear...gonna have to skip for the next few years.

I have a feeling law enforcement/politicians know what's up but aren't releasing info because they don't want to cause a panic.

Basically if you go to a resort in a chit place, dont leave the resort. If your not going to leave the resort, a beach in florida is the same as a beach anywhere else. If you like diving or going site seeing, why the fuk would you go to the DR?

We did our wedding at a resort in playa del carmen mexico, it was barely more than the DR prices. Better place, better food, could leave the resort and see stuff, diving was amazing, no fuggin kids anywhere to be seen. That is how it should be.

X wife and i did bittermoon in Cabo which was chit. The next year went to Playa Del Carmen for a week. It was way better, not nice by any means like Cabo (on the resort) but you could go pretty much anywhere and ppl where friendly enough. This was 15 years ago tho and looking back it was a waste of money. I dont do water stuff like diving, or even swimming for that matter tho so thats probly why it was boring for me.

Anyways Playa Del Carmen is way better than Cabo if you wanna go to a shythole country. Lol

Because DR is the most advanced, richest, and has the best tech and infrastructure in all of the Caribbean. Just came back from a 2 week trip last Friday. None of us died. But then again, we didn't go into any weird resorts, probably looking for hookers and such.

I was very impressed with the fact that I could get LTE everywhere I went, even in remote areas.

I also lived in DR for 3 years, from when I was 20, till when I was 23. Only had one issue, someone breaking into my house while I was out.

I guarantee at least 75% of the people who have died, were doing things they weren't supposed to be doing.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

I've had too many friends that have visited and they've all stated the DR people truly hate Americans.

I cant say I've heard a single positive experience from people visiting DR which is in stark contrast to just about every other tourist driven area.

One of those resorts where the couple died, Bahia Principe, is actually a nice family resort.

It's very coincidental that all these people have a common cause of death listed and that they're all American. If it was just one or two then yeah could chalk it up to people being stupid and going where they're not supposed to, but this is just too much coincidence.

5 of us that were in DR were American citizens, my wife is just straight up American. We spoke only English the whole time, and my brother has 2 sleeves and neck tattoos, I'm sure no one mistook us for locals. Now I'm not saying that everyone who died was doing things they were not supposed to, but more than half had to have been. BTW, 2 Italians also died while diving in some local caves. Again, common sense applies here, I am not gonna go swim in underwater caves in any country.

I asked some Dominican friends of mine about this and they all strongly feel that a non-Dominican is behind the deaths. They said that tt would be stupid for a Dominican local to do this especially since they benefit heavily from tourist money.
