Guys, what’s the best way to optimize my laptop? I’m going to buy another DDR4 stick. Should I do a thermal repaste now? And how do I do an undervolt? Should I just Youtube everything?

Did you guys see that CDPR confirmed a Titan RTX as the graphics card used in their demo?

I really hope they do not reduce graphics assets to appease (insert).

Most just suffer from thermal throttling because of poor paste jobs on delivery. It's paramount to correctly liquid metal your laptop once you get it (voiding warranty) AND use at least a cooling pad at the same time if you don't want stuttering/slow downs.

Yeah right now I’m researching how to remove/ apply thermal paste, undervolt, etc. I’ll probably get a cooling pad too

Let me just be more of a CDPR "nuthugger" as you referred to me earlier in the thread and say this game is will absolutely chit on Deus Ex. The only thing they will basically have in common is both being Cyberpunk themed.

You do realize that there are ways a 20 year old game can still compete with a modern day game....right?

Your post makes it seem like CP2077 should be better purely based on the fact that DE is ~20 years old.

deux ex is totally different though. it's not like what cd projekt is going for. deus ex is instanced by story and arcs. deux ex's gameplay is better compared to the witcher 2. but they are like not the same genres.

Lmao @ how upset some of you are that someone can actually be excited about a new game. I guess I can't help myself that in playing video games since I was ~8 years old - I can finally be excited about a game that has come out in the last decade that doesn't look like I need to wait until it's out to confirm if it will be trash or not.

nobody is upset over you liking a game. every single one of us is excited for it except for maybe wasp9166

Personally I've been 10/10 hyped for countless games that ended up being absolute trash over the years. It's now to the point where I need to make a conscious effort to not get hyped for games and wait post-release for reviews before buying because i've wasted hundreds on games based on hype that ended up being duds

destiny, rdr2, anthem to name a few only very recently

I'm happy you're excited over it, but you think it's a guaranteed perfect game and it's entirely possible to flop

I don't think it will be perfect. I don't think it's possible for anyone to make a "perfect" game since perfect is different for everyone.

But unless all we've seen ends up being nothing like the final product - there's just no way it will be a flop...

I've got as much trust in CDPR as you boyo, but it's entirely possible this will flop. I used to be a massive Blizzard fanboy, buying every new release that they came out with for years. Just look at that company now.

Yes, they used the Titan RTX card. But it's only ~10% faster than an RTX 2080 Ti. The other upside is the MASSIVE amount of RAM (32 GB) but I seriously doubt the game will use >11G that the Ti card has.

I don't know why people are making a huge deal about this.
- Of course CDPR will use a monster GPU for demo purposes. They want it to look as absolutely smooth as possible.
- The game probably isn't nearly as optimized right now as it will be when released so what takes a Titan card now might perform exactly the same on a RTX2070 when the game is released.

Ray tracing aside, the game will probably run on ultra easily at 1440 res with a RTX2070 or better I'm sure. I can't imagine anyone releasing a game that will require a $1,000+ GPU in order to run on ultra settings with ray tracing at 1440 resolution. We'll see in ~10 months I guess.
