Almost never see people benching the 85+ dumbells srs

Only really fat dudes or jacked dudes with a thick barrel chest or big ass arms are doing this for reps. I doubt the average man could even pick up 85 lb dumbells off the ground more than several inches srs

That’s because you’re a lazy bag of human waste that doesn’t frequent a gym so you probably don’t see many things lifting related.

Actually I was a twink and could put up 85’s

But for most gym goers I agree it’s rare srs

Though I’d say 120’s are really where you start seeing only the 1%ers

Go to a better gym. Tons of guys can hit at least the 100s at the commercial gym I go to.

If you're able to bench 85+ DBs for reps, you might as well move onto the barbell.

So, someone started a thread about how 225 was impressive. I was all like "someone's trolling hard."

Now, I'm being told 85s are impressive. I am still being trolled hard, but I recognize the trolling now.

I’m using 100s right now for bench (sets of 10) because my shoulder pain flared up again. Barbell hurts like hell with even one plate, can put up dumbbells no problem. The issue is my gym doesn’t have heavier dumbbells...

Of course the average man couldn't press 85 lbs. The average man can't bench a plate or do a single pull up.

What does that even mean? I can safely bench the 150s with no spot. But I’m sure as fukk not gonna try and do 4 plates with no spot. Too much can go wrong

It's not over the top at all. Test it out one day with your non lifting buddies. Most would be pinned under 135.

I suck at barbell, so I only do dumbbell. 85 is not impressive. Anything over 120 i think is impressive for an average lifter

Again, go to a better gym, at least 3-4 people besides myself mess with them regularly at mine and that is just in the afternoon when I go. 150s are considerably rarer, only seen two other dudes use them at all. If you really want to feel weak go to a legit hardcore gym.

I like benching dumbbells because it doesn’t hurt my shoulders. Most guys in my gym are benching 60-80, 80-120 you don’t see many guys doing. I never understood doing a dumbbell exercise for a one rep max. Dumbbell sets should only be done with a 5 rep minimum.

Lmao. OP cant even be dedicated to lifting and yet hes spouting this bullchit.

OP go lift and stop being a little whiny bich about how no one talks to you and how much your life sucks and yet you dont do anything to improve yourself and the life that you've been given by being born into this world.

Sorry if unrelated but general bench question. My chest is way stronger than my triceps. The obvious solution would be to do triceps assistance but the problem is when I do that, my triceps get sore which takes recovery time which means waiting longer before the next bench session which makes me wonder if there's really a benefit.

Also, is there even any point in worrying about assistance right now? I'm only at 250x5. I've been too worried about getting fat. Should I wait until I've done a get fat and strong phase before worrying about assistance?

Not even lol, most people who never lift can't bench 1 plate, they definitely get to one plate in an instant though if they lift even twice a week. 1 pull up I've seen countless people fail at.

Also Eod trolling again

I dreamer bulked in 2016 and hit the 140s for two reps without a spot or help up. I lost 40lbs since then. But i can still rep the 100s on an incline and probably more on flat. The most ive ever seen was this dude hit the 145s for like 5 reps.

Chalk and forearm training are really helpful for dumbbell presses

There are girls in my gym that do more than this. I stopped doing dbs and moved to barbell when I couldn't go more than 100s, and I'm a fuking twink by misc standards.
