wait, misc is actually doing this?

Careful brahs... psyching yourself up doesn't always work and I'm speaking from experience. Best to just be in a generally happy/social mood and approach people when something comes to mind.

Otherwise you gotta be a thespian in order to drum up significant interactions with strangers.

Maybe they should edge themselves everywhere they go so they're always ready.

I agree. But I think everyone here is probably going to start small. It's better to start off small with just a simple "Hi" and a smile. If it's someone you see regularly at the same place, then there's no harm in a bit of small talk. Hopefully this will lead to growth for some of use here.

I had an older woman speak to me at my gym last week, but I didn't hear her because of my headphones lol. She's been there training so I'll make sure to speak up next time.

It can be very discouraging with women around my age. Some can be really standoffish, but I don't take it personally. I'll continue to just keep it friendly because it'll help with confidence.

Test levels peaking. Gonna need a fanny pack to cover it though.

Alright that's cool. I'm down for eliminating anxiety towards basic friendliness or eye contact which I know some people struggle with.

I remember legit trying cold approach when I was depressed and it was awful. At best I got flakey phone numbers and at worst I got bert stares. But when you're social and happy girls will just gravitate to you. Social interaction is definitely a rich get richer type thing.

Bingo

It's why alcohol, at the right doses, is magical. You don't get in your own head and stop yourself. You literally just think. "She's cute. I'm gonna go say hey".

Fuaark. Remember when I used to dip tobacco and had this buzz going as if you had a beer or two. That chit was always lowering my inhibitions to the max and just putting me in that moody idgaf mindset.

Yeah that is true. For me what I notice is I always try to rationalize why I shouldn't approach. Like today I was on the phone when she was around so I rationalized that as oh im on the phone so I cant approach. But I could have easily hung up on my friend and approached her.

stop needing alcohol to have courage!!!

You guys need to just do it. You're gonna look back and regret the chances you DIDNT take. The worst thing she can say is no, that's it. She's not gonna kill you. So just do it!

I wouldn't really approach a girl unless she gave me choosing signals, or if I was in an area where I know I won't frequent again.

Most of the girls that I've gone out with I actually 'cold' approached but I had built a small amount of familiarity with them already, like they had seen me before or knew me a little.

It isn't necessary, but if you've experienced liquid courage, you know exactly what mindset you need when approaching women. You have to not take yourself so seriously, no second guess yourself the whole time, and just have fun with it.

But hey, if they want to practice at a bar, that's always an option.

very true I guess, perhaps start with drinks and a bar first, but my point was don't depend on it always. Good luck guys!

if you guys were at the grocery store and a random guy walked up to you and said "sup brah, mirin the fruity pebbles you picked out. can i get your number so we can hang out some time? i think we could be good friends", how would you receive that? because that's how the women who get cold approached feel.

Its not the same thing because when you approach a girl like that she automatically knows that you are prob interested in her sexually. With a dude like that its weird because you dont know his intentions.

Sounds like an idiots approach and very unnatural.

I'm in. I was feeling like **** for not talking to the girl I seen at the mall the other day. I seen her right when I was just about to leave. I also tried phenibut for the first time and it didn't seem to help. I'm going to double to dose of phenibut and try again whenever I get a chance to go out to the mall. The thing that sucks is most of the time when I go out to the mall with the hopes of seeing an attractive girl there, it usually never happens and I just end up wasting time. It's always when I least expect to see an attractive girl is when it happens.

I think a better way to phrase this is how many random men do you guys ever talk to at the grocery store. It's almost like people don't talk to strangers there.

I've been cold approached a couple times by guys trying to pitch me some MLM bull****. The first time a guy started by telling me "nice shoes", mind you my shoes were old and worn out. Then he started talking to me about random **** and the whole time I was thinking "who tf is this guy and what does he want", then he started talking about having a millionaire mentor and that's when I knew it was some MLM pyramid scheme ****. Personally I would have preferred it if they just got straight to the point instead of wasting my time with small talk trying to lead into an MLM pitch.

If and when I cold approach a girl I'm going to try and get straight to the point as early on as possible.

This is true. It's always been easier for me talking to people when I'm in a happy/social mood or when I'm focused on something other than trying to meet girls. Whenever I go out with the intention of trying to meet girls, I always feel like I get stuck in my head and like I'm putting pressure on myself instead of just letting it naturally happen.
