Nah, that's legit. We are talking about your average man, not one who actually goes to the gym or works out. I have seen people fail at one pullup.

I could do it with a strong bulk. I was relatively lean doing the 90s. I'm not willing to get fat to be able to brag about lifting numbers. If I cared about that, i would just lie like everybody else does.

LOL. You are right about this. Only on the misc do people act like 120s aren't extremely rare as fk.

It’s not. It’s common as fukk. I can bench 150s for reps with no spot. 175s if you count a generous spot like the video of that chick itt albeit I actually go down. And I’m not even in the top 10% of my gym.

For an entry level gym EOD ain't wrong lol. But i'd say once you are pushing 120 LBs+ it starts to become impressive in my book.

I bet the average guy who trains hard and dedicates himself to weight lifting will be able to push out a couple of reps of 100 lb DBs within 1.5-2 years of training. I've seen it happen with a couple of my friends.

Nothing like the cope crew...

BRB joined BB.com 5 years ago and still can't bench 230...

Any 200 lb male that has been lifting consistently for 2 years should be using 100s. The only reason you shouldn't be able to is if you are dumb ass and can't get out of your own way (EOD).

"I know how my body works, it just can't lift more than 225, been doing the same thing for years and just can't progress"

Guess it depends on what gym you're at and maybe the time of day, but at the LA Fitness I go to I believe the dbs go up to 120, definitely 110. I almost never see people with them, but I've seen it a handful of time. Only a couple of the guys were getting legit reps, but hey, it's more than I can do so whatever.

It shouldn't take that much time to be able to rep 100s. 6-8 months it should take really, if not less time.

There is one legit guy I have no clue how he's so strong. He looks like mostly muscle, but he's not overly big at all. It's one of those things where you look and go "wtf, that dude is strong as ****". Routinely see people looking at him when he benches like "wtf!". A few of the other guys who hit them are definitely large dudes. Some of them are carrying a lot of extra fat, but they are strong as ****.

120s are heavy af i don't even know how people can pick them up tbh. They are on the top of the weight rack at my gym too so there's no chance i'm even going to attempt to lift those fukers.

It’s not. But If there wasn’t hardcore gyms then you’d be seeing crazy numbers in regular gyms.

Well I dont bench at all whether its dumbbells or barbells anymore because of my rotator cuff.

But, back when I had healthy shoulders I got up to 90lb dumbbells in 5 months weighing below 200lbs. That was a very long time ago. I was also able to dumbbell shoulder press 70lbs in each hand in a matter of 6 months.

Not sure if serious. Currently weighing 170 at 5’10 with poverty Indian genetics. Pressing 100lbs for reps on both flat and incline, and I am weak as fuk. With a year of dedicated lifting, you should be able to press 85s, easily.

150s v 8 for incline and 120s x 8 when I DB shoulder press. I definitely notice some looks when I start throwing that kind of weight around

The human body isn't designed to lift that much weight and it's counter-intuitive.

Srs question but how come DBs are so much harder to bench than a barbell? Ie two 85s is only 170, which most strong guys can do easily. You rarely see guys do 100 dbs, but see 200-300 benchs all the time.

Because dumbbell bench presses are supposed to be accessory lifts not PR lifts. If you want to bench for a PR then barbells are far more optimal for that. And there arent too many dudes repping 85 lb dumbbells for 10-12 reps using proper form and full range of motion.
