She should think "you know what? I couldnt take care of this child alone if it was just me so what would be the best option here?"

I mean, I agree, ultimately the man doesn't get much of a say. There's no disputing that.

Why does she have the sole vote then? I get that it's inside of her body, but your argument is that they're equally responsible.

So basically, you're suggesting a society where a man can breed as much as he likes, tell the mother of his child "abortion or GTFO", and then be absolved of all parental rights?

Are you asking why I think thats a bad idea?

I could understand her wanting an abortion after realising the baby would inherit your friends retarded genes.

You responsibility begins when you put your dink in raw and doesn't end till that kid is 18 years old.

Where you've gone off the rails, OP, is assuming that there's any conceptual link between child support and wanting a baby.

Someone gets hit with paternity simply because the kidexists, whether it was wanted or not. It's been a legal fiction since the early republic, when it was customary to assign it to the master of the house if the skullery maid got knocked up some unknown village poor simply because he had deep pockets.

It's always been about keeping the baby off the streets and off the public dole, not the wishes of the parents. That's why they'll get you if you "assume the role" of paternity, even if there is no actual biological paternity: it isn't because they're trying to stabilize the kid's family structure, but because they found a sucker to stick with the title. If they know whose dick it was, they start there, regardless of anyone's feelings. Even if, somehow, neither parent was aware of the pregnancy or birth (imagine a man and a woman are both in a coma, and a deranged doctor decides to use one to inseminate the other), they'd both still be stuck with the kid.
Nah, fukk that. I’m not doing that.

Only when women have the same responsibility. Its all well and good to say men should "sack-up...man-up" and all sorts of other man-shaming phrases but as long as women can choose abortion unilaterally, you have a two sided system that empowers women while denying men their reproductive rights.

You can't tell a woman to get an abortion just like I can't tell you to get an appendectomy.

Biology favors the woman in this scenario, but the good news is that there are many methods of birth control for men to 100% avoid a situation like this.

So would you be happy if the woman lost her right to choose to have an abortion?

Illogical example. In the appendectomy example it's just the man's body that is involved. In a pregnancy the man is legally tied to the choice of whether or not to abort AND there is a third life involved as well. Its not just about the women's life and should not just be her choice.

so what happens to a woman who lets someone put it in, with no protection, then drops off the kid at a firestation? Should she be financially responsible?

Well when people cant see why something like this is wrong it usually helps to reverse the situation and put them in the other persons shoes; Suppose the man had total, unilateral control on whether or not you had an abortion. If he chose to have the baby, you would be forced, for the rest of your life, to take responsibility for it. If you wanted the baby and he chose to abort, you would have no power to stop him from taking that away from you. How does that make you feel, still not seeing the "wrong"?

Men aren’t women. Men have to take responsibility for their actions.

Life isn’t fair.

Almost no perfect answer here unless people start signing contracts prior to having sex agreeing to abortion in the case of pregnancy.

Maybe "tiered" child support?

Dude pays less if gives up the right to be in the child's life?

If idiots are dumb enough to knock sloots up, then I am not going to foot the bill for helping raise some single mom's kid because the dad skipped out. Obviously it's unfair to the man, but the whole reason these sort of laws are in place is because everyone knows someone has to support these women since so many of them are incapable of taking care of their own business. It's like in the old days how dads used to pay a dowry to get a daughter out of their fckin hands. The government sure as fck doesn't want to do it, I don't want to do it. At least the dude doing it got to blow his load before wasting all his money.

I'm 100% against abortion, I think it's murdering children for convenience and all that, but let's just play devil's advocate

In a sick twisted world where abortion is an option, here's how it should go down:
-both parents should have a say whether their kid lives or dies
-if either parent wants the kid to live, then the kid lives
-if one parent chooses life and one chooses death, the one who chose life is fully responsible for the kid. They get 100% custody, and they can choose if they want to give it up for adoption or not

AND, if neither party wants the baby and it comes into this world, both parties should be financially responsible for the baby even if it gets adopted and/or goes into foster care.
The people that run things doesn't want paternal involvement they just want fathers separated from their money. Women, on the whole, make better consumers than me do because they are more susceptible to societal pressure and feel more of a need to fit in and belong. But it isn't just men they're after they're also after women and do everything they can to belittle traditional female roles and try to push women into masculine pursuits. If people are never fulfilled they are always going to be searching for the one thing to make them feel complete and sadly, these days it tends to be commercial products. I agree with you but there is less than a 0% chance of any of that happening
