So I'm just going to assume you put in a couple thousand, and lost your ass and now you hate crypto. If that's what it is man, I can understand. But you're completely speaking out of your ass right now comparing it to selling misc rep. LOL.

Again lets see all those assets and capital you were talking about. I'll send you $200 in btc if you can post proof of your $10k to $44k trades "A while back, when it was crazy."

You apparently didn't read the part about it's value, since it's false that it's only value is people saying "it's gonna go up".

I don't think Microsoft would accept it if it was a Ponzi scheme. I don't think TD Ameritrade would add crypto trading to it's website if it was a ponzi scheme. Ohio is trying to be the first state to allow you to pay taxes with bitcoin. Maybe you're missing the writing on the wall, but it's getting legitimized more and more every year.

Hello friend.

1. Market congestion with regards to the transaction fee is being worked on.It's called the scaling solution. Remember, even the internet had scale issues back in 1997. Everyone was saying "we can never send music or movie data through the internet, it's too big". Back then, all we could do is TEXT. And today, everyone has an iPhone in their pocket. Very easy solution to attain over time.

2. There is plenty of anonymity with different cryptocurrencies (Monero, Beam, Grin coin etc.)CoinBase had very strict KYC because they accept U.S. Dollars. It's very easy to put your money into BTC in one exchange, and then transfer it over. I can transfer $111,000 USD (10 x Bitcoin) into a CoinBase account, but then send it to another exchange wallet to store or trade.

Also, Bitcoin's most famous use is a Store of Wealth & Value. It's a public ledger of transactions. There are other cryptocurrencies which target the 'privacy' attribute.

The government can track your Bitcoin spending but it won't matter because it's a better alternative than storing your money in FIAT which is being printed into oblivion every year.

3. Pump and Dumps... they are Rallys & Corrections.Bitcoin has been around for 10-years and the only people who are negative on the investment are those who bought in 2 months out of those 10yrs (Jan + Dec 2017). Nothing in markets will move in a straight line so its natural to expect corrections and retracements anyway.

Instead of wasting your time being a no-coincel you should spend a bit of time researching it, I think you'll be mighty surprised at what you find <3

Lol you are coping so hard ITT

Nocoiners, when will they learn.

Monero is for anonymity. Not bitcoin.

Who gives af, it being unregulated and the wild west is a feature, not a bug. Either go fetch your balls from your girl's purse and play the game or stay away.

I didn't buy Pepsi stock with the hopes of selling it for less that's for sure.

"Bitcoin has no value" Except it can securely transfer value digitally without having to go through a 3rd party or anyone being able to stop it. That = value. It's limited supply that will never go higher than 21 million coins vs USD that is constantly has more being printed with Quantitative Easing essentially guarantees over time the USD value of bitcoin will always rise higher and higher over time which also gives value. Also the network effect and belief in it by many people gives value.

Just amusing that no coiners who have watched it go from $1 to $10 to $100 to $1,000 to $10,000 just keep assuming its a scam, and haven't tried to question their own convictions about it.
Lol that crypto people believe what even comes out of their own mouth.

1) you need an exchange to buy crypto. This relies on another party. You just trust them because they are part of this whole retarded underground economy for some reason

2) it absolutely relies on other people. If you and your buddy were the last two crypto people alive, you couldn't process transactions to send money back and forth because that relies on the computing power of a ton of other people in the blockchain.

3) it's DEFINITELY not "secure", unless by secure you mean "law enforcement/govt can't easily see it". In terms of actually having a low probability of losing your money via nefarious means, the odds are much, much higher than any traditional method.

What about the Quadrsometing or other exchange where the founder siphoned customer's coins to margin trade and lost them all to the tune of 195 mil...actually more like $500+ mil in today's value.

To point #3... this is the dumbest argument I hear over and over. Mt Gox, the hack this week... it's estimated as much as 25% of the BTC ever mined have been lost at this point.

You don't need an exchange at all to buy crypto. My first crypto I ever bought involved me meeting somebody in person at a train station... There are COUNTLESS places you can buy crypto, in fact there are very few exchanges you can actually buy bitcoin through... you need bitcoin first then you send it to an exchange.

I'll just ignore 3 since you're completely wrong... Someone can walk up to your car break your window and steal your wallet and/or money if you leave it there... I can memorize a serious of words and the only way someone could steal those coins is if someone could convince me to tell them all of the words in sequence...

It's as secure as you choose to make it. I don't leave much coin on ANY exchange. I keep it all in my personal wallets. Odds of it getting stolen? Close to none. If you leave your coins on a shady/unknown/****ty exchange, there is a chance you could lose your money. This is something you learn very early on, dont leave funds on exchanges.

So me responding sarcastically to somebody who's making a false statement is being a pretentious douchebag? I should respond while ignoring the fact they are 100% wrong?

Someone claiming bitcoin is going to $1k, while every chart possible shows the exact opposite... you want me to treat their comment seriously?

Being lost is not the same as being stolen, and you still demonstrating you know absolute fuk-all about this topic. "hackers" steal btc through traditional means, like phishing people, putting out dirty API programs that people hook up to their exchange account, breaking people's passwords, etc etc. and shady pseduo exchanges exit scamming is not bitcoin being insecure. The actual bitcoin blockchain is secure AF. Stay in your lane cat brah

What's going on in th-

OHHH LAWD.

I'm tired of having these kinds of debates after 5 years. Either you're involved or not. I'll continue doing my thing with or without ya. I'll just say this. It's a speculative asset, like gold but on ****ing crystal meth. Basically everyone involved is a speculator. Gold will collapse over the next 50 years as asteroid mining becomes achievable. There countless aestroids the size of Manhattan that contain more gold than has ever been mined in all of human history, ever. Hopefully BTC will replace that one day as the "limited supply scarce safe place to park your money" asset that gold once was. Whether you believe in these kinds of things vs. stocks in real companies is a matter of personal choice.

Until then I'll just keep riding the waves. They're quite profitable.

I understand they are different. I'm pointing out that both are issue. The lost thing is a real issue. If I had $1m in cash I decided to keep in my home, people would call me insane. Yet this is the *most* secure option that exists for Btc. Oh worse yet. If I forget the combo to my safe, I can use a crowbar. If I forget the password to my computer, have it crash, etc... there's no recovery method. This whole world is exponentially less secure and stable than real money and banking.

Wat?

Like 1/3 if California's population has never had a bank account in their lives.

Anyway, I just really hope all the Btc advocates at least grasp the value is in the speculation, not the actual asset. If you believe it'll reach $1m irrationally and plan to cash out on the emotional drive of the market, more power to you. If you've actually convinced yourself the value will hit those levels based on Btc having a use... ho lee fuk.

Take for instance the company Fidelity. They have a 2.5 trillion dollar asset base with their clients. 40% of those clients want to be owning crypto. That is just one company. Crypto has been retail trading, once the big players dive in the deep end, which they will, BTC will skyrocket more than anyone can actually comprehend. It isn't a hard concept to grasp my man.
