Yes, I want to support men (and people) who are struggling with mental health issues. But how much can a few unqualified (non-professional) people really do, except give genuine encouragement and some subjective advice? Good counselors should know exactly how to treat certain diagnosed conditions or be able to "coach" you through less severe obstacles.
People should care about the mental health of our youth because they will be the leaders when the rest of us are gone...

Fact: My first-generation uncle was a boxer who fought Sugar Ray Robinson! He also fought in the war, sacrificing the career he deeply loved, so people could have the right to freedom.
Let's show RESPECT for the POLICE and ALL FIRST RESPONDERS by helping to keep THEM SAFE AND SOUND, and thereby able to PROTECT US!

I would just go to the titty bar and bust a nut in some 18-25 yo big titty slut for ~$200 or go to a regular bar and bust a nut in some hambeast for free. Got me through the day.

Not really. My friend told me that one time he went to see a psychiatrist in college and while they were greeting each other he asked her how she was doing and she said, "Not bad, I wish I wasn't working." True story

There is plenty.
The issue is linking up with it.
You have to go to the doctors and get a referral.
You have to then ring around to get an appointment with a specialist.
You have to go to the first few appointments, see if it clicks, then desire to keep going.
You have to open up and work through trauma and issues, which is very challenging.
What I’m saying op, is that YOU have to take responsibility for getting help.
You view yourself as helpless and hopeless and more than likely won’t do any of the above...which is a sure sign of personality disorder...which usually takes a loved one to do all of the above for the person and even then therapy won’t do **** because the patient is too focussed on proving how broken they are rather than getting better.

Dear OP, what kinds of things you think would help you feel less lonely? What things usually help you with loneliness? Does hanging out with your girlfriend help with loneliness? Do you two support each other?
How about your parents? Do you feel happy around your girlfriends? How about your parents?
It's not usually the quantity of people around us but the specific people that we are around that makes us happy.
I don't have anyone but my husband but I don't really feel lonely when he's around. When he goes on tour, it's hell. That's why we should have more than just one person I guess.

What is it you want, OP? You're 30 years old now, not sure how it's so shocking to you that most people around are settling down to mundane lives with kids. Do you date, do you want to date? Why not find a hobby like martial arts where you'll be around people of similar interest. Go to the shooting range, guys are friendly there. Volunteer somewhere. Maybe you need a therapist to talk to weekly. I wouldn't recommend a psych because they're just going to give you a script of drugs to numb you. You're just a lonely *******, not crazy.

depression is all about isolation. i think people look at that topically generally. but you cant point to anything specific? that you are doing to cause you to feel isolated?
unfortunately, it is true that people don't like to be around depressed people - as it brings them down, its kind of a double whammy when you're down in the dumps. it does require a little bit of effort on your part
why dont you start to analyze what people like and want to hear and provide it for them? it is more of a mutual exchange - e.g. you provide something, they reciprocate, than it is you not providing anything and expecting to take
im talking very vaguely because i feel it encompasses what i want to say better; large subjects instead of little intricacies

I would be open to actual advice and go see a psychiatrist. Honestly. It’s not a big deal man.
Also, it will help you turn your internal around. As that happens you will appear more friendly, open and approachable. People will start to try to relate to you and the burden you feel will slowly go away.
I promise you. But it’s going to start with you WANTING TO and truly accepting help. Be vulnerable. You have to care for yourself internally. There is NO pressure when you go to see a psychiatrist.
The mental and emotional state you are in now, makes every negative and melancholic feeling that you experience 100x worse. You probably get exhausted from being around your coworkers because of this. You say you can’t relate, but I think a lot of that has to do with things intrinsically for you. You probably approach each day at work from a guarded/sheepish already down in the dumps feeling wise. Because to you “what’s the point, I can’t relate”.
You aren’t happy. It’s not your coworkers that are causing your loneliness. It doesn’t end at work. What your feeling is a byproduct of the root causes of making you feel depressed.
Sure. You put in effort to be friends and stuff with those around you. You’re fighting. But you’re fighting the wrong battle. Everyone is a little broken man. It takes strength to realize that and get help. I’m not saying you’re crazy, diluted or any of that nonsense. But something is wrong and I think you know it. But you won’t truly know what it is until you speak to someone. You have to, have to be open. Leave ego aside. Listen, speak honestly and I guarantee you, you will feel a million times better in a little while and your relationships with your coworkers will improve. You’re driving blind right now man, throwing punches at the wrong things. Someone can help you figure out the root cause and you can start that fight. You will be fine.
just be open and honest. No ego. It is alpha(I hate this term as well as beta, but for misc purposes) to be vulnerable bro, especially when you yourself is on the line. It’s not embarrassing. It’s admirable. Take the links in this thread and go and crush it man.

Use the website above to search for local therapists in your area. Your health insurance will cover the costs for most, or all, of them. They're trained to listen and speak to depressed and lonely individuals. I spoke to one for a few weeks when I first got out of college.

OP, Hobbies and alcohol help me . I’ve always been an introvert , but on occasion I get out of the house .
Met some extremely cool people skydiving. Their all adrenaline junkies and alcoholics , awesome bunch .
Go for a photography course . You may meet a sloot there who has common interests. But above all force yourself to get out of the house and experience something, otherwise it’s to easy to get into a rut
