No its because women and women's groups exist to support and advocate for other women. Men take the opportunity to look down on the guy or just ignore him and be happy it isnt them. Thats why men die on the job at 9X the rate of woman and no support groups no marches for men, no news coverage...its complete blackout. Look at the suicide rate....drug overdoses, cancers, etc, etc Men are dying 10-1 across the board. Yet the amount of time and money spent on "women's issues" outstrips whats available to men by a hundred miles.

I promise you. But it’s going to start with you WANTING TO and truly accepting help. Be vulnerable. You have to care for yourself internally. There is NO pressure when you go to see a psychiatrist.

The mental and emotional state you are in now, makes every negative and melancholic feeling that you experience 100x worse. You probably get exhausted from being around your coworkers because of this. You say you can’t relate, but I think a lot of that has to do with things intrinsically for you. You probably approach each day at work from a guarded/sheepish already down in the dumps feeling wise. Because to you “what’s the point, I can’t relate”.

You aren’t happy. It’s not your coworkers that are causing your loneliness. It doesn’t end at work. What your feeling is a byproduct of the root causes of making you feel depressed.

Sure. You put in effort to be friends and stuff with those around you. You’re fighting. But you’re fighting the wrong battle. Everyone is a little broken man. It takes strength to realize that and get help. I’m not saying you’re crazy, diluted or any of that nonsense. But something is wrong and I think you know it. But you won’t truly know what it is until you speak to someone. You have to, have to be open. Leave ego aside. Listen, speak honestly and I guarantee you, you will feel a million times better in a little while and your relationships with your coworkers will improve. You’re driving blind right now man, throwing punches at the wrong things. Someone can help you figure out the root cause and you can start that fight. You will be fine.

just be open and honest. No ego. It is alpha(I hate this term as well as beta, but for misc purposes) to be vulnerable bro, especially when you yourself is on the line. It’s not embarrassing. It’s admirable. Take the links in this thread and go and crush it man.
Yes part of the problem with my coworkers is me, but i still don't relate to them enough. I feel like an alien at work. I'm always the guy that just never talks. That isn't normal at all.

The root of my depression is trauma, severe depression and pain. I don't know how anyone can help me with trauma and if i'm not feeling depressed i am in pain. Or both.

All i do is sit around and listen to emotional metal songs or just metal in general. It's all i want to do. Ever.

There is zero support for men at work. You can't say anything without getting grief or being called a pussy. My leg would have to get cut off before i would go to HR about something srs.

Music is an AMAZING supplement. Don’t stop listening to those songs. I’m sure you can find comfort in that.

Speaking to someone will help, first and foremost, because you won’t be bottling it. It’s no joke, that actually saying it out loud, does give you relief. Even if every session you’re talking yourself in circles, you aren’t in your head. Sometimes they can ask questions to help you further understand the pain you mentioned and to work through the trauma.

They won’t give you a solution. It’s to help you understand where you are at and how to make progress moving forward. If it’s severe depression, they can recommend medication, though that is ultimately your call. Anything else, you are deflecting your problems. Not facing them. Problems isn’t even the right word. It’s scary, a little. But it will be freeing.

These guys saying sex and all of that. That’s a distraction. Not a fix. You can distract yourself as much as you want, but you will always still feel this way until you start taking positive action. Substances and carnal affairs aren’t the way to long term success and improvement.

Music is a great way to face your emotions, but it’s still not an active fix.

Also, cut the negativity from your life. It sounds like this girl could be part of that. You can do better than her.

Correct.

OP has been pointed towards professional resources. And several people have offered their personal help. If it were up to me, I'd close the thread, give him a week to hook up with professional help or contact the people here off the site, and then ban him, so he could focus on what he needs to do. Alas, it is not up to me.

Yeah..you’re introverted but so what. I’m as introverted as anyone but I wanted to change. So while I was in college I took a job as a waiter at Applebee’s to help get me out of my shell. I went from a 95 pound squat to a 605 squat. I ****ed everything with a vag and 2 legs off tinder. I did almost every drug under the sun to put myself out there in the party scene. I’m still introverted at heart but I can be extroverted when I need to be and it doesn’t feel awkward to me.

If you wanna change yourself have to make changes. nobody is gonna fukkin do it for you.

A lot of people will tell you not to go to a psych because they will "just prescribe you meds" but this sounds like true depression. One thing about when people get placed on meds is that once the veil of depression is lifted people start to see their lives in a different way and may have more energy and motivation to make the changes they need for long term happiness. It's not always a permanent thing to be on something.

This really stands out. Could even be part of the root of your depression. Either openly talk to her about how the relationship is phucked up and fix it, or just end it.

It is easier to live in a sad situation that you are comfortable in than it is to leave that situation and start over with new opportunities, but it sounds like that is what you need. Maybe in your career, in your relationship, where you live, or any of the combinations.

Nobody cares about your problems. I really don’t mean to be a dick but it’s the truth. No one gives a **** about you or your problems so how are you going to expect them to put up with your negativity with no added benefit ?

That’s why I don’t understand feeling lonely. People only want you around if it benefits them in some materialistic/Monetary way. No one is really your friend when the **** hits the fan.

If you don’t come from a ****ed up family I’d suggest talking to them if you feel close, if not , dunno , find something that makes you happy and think about that all day instead.

Either that or move somewhere nice and live in bliss thinking it fixed everything lol

Financial bliss too

I find that even though you can relate to people and get help from outside influences in the end true mental stability can only be achieved by your inner self, finding a goal / purpose, staying healthy, getting out of comfort zone, slowly achieving your goals day by day. Helped me i used to be one introverted ******* in my 16 to 21.

I've been to 3 different areas bro, nothing works lol. Last time I had any coworkers that showed any interest or had anything in common with me was 3 years ago.

Everyone in the office is miserable that's why I just stay to myself lol. Most of that stuff I dont want to get involved in anyways

Financial bliss too
I used to have real friends and acquaintances who liked me a lot until 2015. Then it all changed. All when I got older and started working at an office building and everyone became addicted to smart phones. In 2011-2014 i partied and talked to so many people and then it all changed In late 2014 or so srs
