Then it all changed. All when I got older and started working at an office building and everyone became addicted to smart phones. In 2011-2014 i partied and talked to so many people and then it all changed In late 2014 or so srs
I mean, I understand the need to isolate yourself as I need some free time too but I feel that even if you meet someone you want to go alone maybe it is not the case that is just the feelings I got.
Have you thought about this ? do you really want to break isolation ?
It is not an attack really, just that when you are depressed you sometimes have to force yourself to go to an afterwork or a dinner or something like that. When you are in deep sh... you might be like "what's the point of living so what's the point of me going there to be with people ?", you need to fight that and goes there, stay 1h or 2h and like talk a bit or just listen. See it like when you are tired after a day at work and you are like "well do I go train ?" then you go there and afterwards even if the workout was not great and you miss a few reps here and there you still feel better.
It is the same with friends or acquainttances, don't refuse an invitation or ask yourself people to grab a drink here and there even if sometimes you don't like or are not motivated to do so.
You say that you are not able to find common ground but you were at some point cause you had friends back then. What were you talking about ?
Idk the culture in USA and Canada but it is not possible that of all people every one is on their phones and just don't look what changes around you, see if your attitude toward life and other people did not change either that tends to contribute to your loneliness. I say that cause it seems that your first and basic assumption when you talk about meeting people is that they cannot relate to you and just gonna do some small talks. Well try to change that and believe that people can relate to you and that they are cool to hang out rather than having the mindset of "I want to isolate myself".
can't you find some gym buddy to share a work out and then why not a PWO meal ? you listen to music, can't you invite someone to listen to some metals around a drink or some bbq or whatever ? ask someone at work for a movie, a run, I dunno whatever ?
Even if you are depressed there are some things that put a little smile or in the middle of your ch... that makes you think "well that was cool", try to find people who love the same things as you do. Try to join an association or whatever to share activities you love to do.
I would not advise going for psy or taking meds as I don't believe in those but feel free to go this road if you think that can help.
Also, if you made friends don't start venting on depression and so on, try to be positive around them, keep your negative thought for yourself. If you made a few genuine friends then feel free to open up if you like too but then again you probably know the cause of your depression and unsatisfaction with life and will not share those feelings so no point in talking about that imho.
Good luck bro.

If none of the psych folks in the past have worked, maybe they were the wrong ones? I would keep trying until you found someone that you legit like and be upfront about who you have seen in the past.
The hard reality is you keep blaming your coworkers or people etc for being miserable/terrible/antisocial etc, but you are the common denominator. You need to keep trying psych docs until you nail the person who can legit help you and you are somewhat comfortable with.
When you first started lifting it took you a bunch of tries to nail your routine right? You also have changed it up a bunch over the years, right? Do the same thing you do with your physical health with mental health, keep trying different options. Get off your can and go find the right doc!
