Content owners realized they could just stream their own content and make more money doing that. So it's not like Netflix really has a choice. Having said that, they've been spending like 6 billion a year on mostly garbage content.

Netflix is definitely heading in the wrong direction but I still keep my subscription for the convenience of it.

I could see myself canceling fairly soon though. Figured I was saving money cord-cutting and now all of a sudden there are 350 streaming platforms, each wanting their cut. Fuk this. What is dead may never die...

This. Back in like 2011, Netflix was pretty much the king. Then other sites became bigger deals like Hulu, Amazon Prime even offers content now, etc. That already split up the potential content enough as it was, and now companies like Disney and the other networks are all making up their own streaming services to further fracture the content. They're slowly turning into cable but with the ability to select episodes/scenes as you please. Eventually, having everything you want will probably cost even more than the obscene cable packages do lol.

However, I can see this causing more people to say fuk it and resort to dealing with bootleg sites that will stream everything for free. That's the one major factor that might eventually help keep them in check to an extent compared to the old cable days where you had one or two options for service with a few chit tier packages to get a handful of good channels.

Once Disney Plus comes out this fall I'll probably cancel. We can't get Hulu in Canada yet, Crave sucks and with small kids (parent crew) and no cable at least they have decent kids shows. Can't wait for Disney Plus though, and it will spell the death knell for Netflix unless they change something or lower their prices.

while i agree that an Eddie Murphy show will do great numbers, not everyone knows him anymore. people 25 and under probably have never seen a single thing of his except maybe Shrek when they were kids. Dave Chappelle is 100% a bigger name in 2019

Yeah their movies suck. My wife and I only watch a few tv shows on there and that's about it. My daughter does use it quite a bit though.

I recently watched two fantastic Israeli shows:

- Fauda. Action packed thrilling show about an Israeli anti-terrorist squad taking down Palestinian terrorists. Similar to 24 or Jack Ryan.
- Shtisel. In total contrast to Fauda, Shtisel is a heavy drama about a Chassidic family living in Jerusalem. It's a fantastic show with really conflicted characters and great actors.

I get that second phase millennials wont really know him outside of "donkey", but Catbrah and his group of friends are my age, and as you know the 80's and 90's were Eddie's heyday. I can see where you say Dave might be the bigger name in 2019, but I still don't see him as the bigger name overall. There is still a very large percentage of our population that is very familiar with Eddie, and have been very vocal about him making a return to the stage.

They had Tombstone on there not to long ago. I live 20 minutes from Tombstone so was going to watch the movie again and go visit the actual town soon. Looked for it 2 days ago and it was gone just as soon as they put it on there. Rustled was a understatement.
