I agree, I believe that's generally true.

Most people's standards adjust with age, they begin to value character/psychology of their partner more than looks.

But in regards to looks, I've no doubt that both men and women generally physically find younger people more attractive.

I find college aged girls the most attractive physically, but pshychologically they are a big turn off. I'm most attracted to women my own generation, psychologically.
Most people dont care about personality at all. They might say they do, but in reality they dont. I think only intellectuals care about personality when dating.

It's the other way around for me. Whenever I see a decent looking guy with a fat and/or ugly chick I do a double take because it just seems bizarre to me. Then again, I live in the LA area. Unattractive to average guys with attractive women are a dime a dozen here, but I realize it's not really representative of the rest of the country.

In a lot of other places in the country where most of the women are fat by 22, I'm sure what you see is a lot more common.

So you don't really want a relationship then, which is fine. Lots of guys say they don't want a relationship, but if a 20 year old virgin hbb with a great personality came along, I'm sure they'd change their mind. Realistically, a Chad in his early 20's isn't interested in an LTR with a divorced woman in her late 40's or however old you are.

Of course. Anyone with too high of standards is going to wind up alone. At the same time, I don't really believe that attraction is this abstract concept that is exclusively external. People who are intrinsically fulfilled and not in constant need of validation from others tend to be more flexible in their attraction. Some of the happiest, most successful men I know are still attracted to their old, fat wives who look like water buffalo.
