To start I am nervous about this review as I can see Shimla cottage don’t handle criticism very well...::

We use 6/8 size king prawns we don’t grow them in the back Garden so have to do with what ever size gets delivered. We can’t use a bigger size due to the price we charge. Am not sure how we traumatised you were you hoping to achieve supernatural powers after eating the Prawns ? Like Popeye does after he devourers a tin of spinach ! Our Nan breads are cooked in a 500 degree oven and I would welcome you to show me a dough Nan. And you mention this place used to be lovely can you direct us to a lovely review you have left us previously to this one ? If you have a genuine compliment do it at the time so we can rectify it.


Another review:

I came here for lunch with a friend, checked their lunch menu first which was a set course menu with 1 vegatarian option. We then asked for the main menu and asked if we could do a sauce with no meat and order nanns, rice etc but share the sauce and the waiter rudely interrupted the order to demand we get a main course each as they are running a business here so can't just be ordered sauces and sides from the menu. The funny thing is that this order would have been more than the cost of the set lunch menu.

Anyway after telling us we couldn't order sides and sauce we advised we were leaving and the rude waiter followed us to the demanding that they run a business, what do we expect, they expect people to order mains. We paid for our drinks (that were ordered and not drunk).

I have literally never experienced anything like this in my life, this is the worst service I have ever received and I am appalled. The lunch menu looked like reheated food and the staff were rude, avoid at all costs!

We don't serve Chips and Curry sauce to sit in.
I have literally never had anyone wanting to have chips and Gravy in a restaurant. We don't have photos of the food we serve on our menus so how could you tell the food was reheated??
Do you have some kind of sixth sense to see through walls and see the food lying there waiting to be reheated?
The funny thing is that all the time you've been spending in the sunbeds has fried any brain cells you had.

Absolutely brilliant response. He could very well have had ****ty food and a ****ty atmosphere and some bad reviews are warranted, but I lol'd nonetheless.

How I would write a review for him:

Hello Rajesh, your food looks exactly like you, just like chit, but because your eyes are so far apart, I get it, you can't see what you serve. I ordered a coffee, it was so watery, I thought a holy cow peed in a bucket, tell your mom that I'm going back to Europe and if she's not a good girl, she'll become a burger.
The main course was absolutely disgusting, you never heard about chips and salsa bish? Let me tell you, that's called competitive advantage, the reason why your chit restaurant will always stay on the last place.
Desert was thinner as a piece of bread, I think your wife cooked it, she's used with tiny little things, just as the worm inside your pants.

That being said, Rajesh, I understand you're miserable because you had to marry your hairy cousin, but please understand, I have a great life and for the 3,5 pounds I should have been served like a Queen. IIf you don't like it nowadays, Rajesh, go back 2000 years.
