Seen 2 very old ladies coming out with a cart full of 9 or so huge bags of ice.

Water is off the shelves.

Gas lines backed up.

Why do people hoard bread tho lol it gets stale, moldy and if it gets wet it becomes worthless. Seems to be the WORST food you would want in a hurricane/flood situation yet they buy the chit in truckloads.

Because with no power your gonna be eaten a lot of sandwiches. Bread lasts a week or so and a little mold never killed nobody. Plus you can freeze it to extend the perishable date. I usually have an extra loaf or 2 in the freezer.

its suggested to do crackers over bread. it lasts longer and you can still spread things on it like cheese jelly peanut butter

Went to Costco last night just to pick up a few things not even hurricane related and the line was wrapped around the entire store. Carts completely filled with nonsense. All these northerners come down and freak out. They said Matthew was going to devastate us and be a direct hit- nothing. They said Irma would be the same- power out a few days and zero damage. Not that I'm complaining...

They are talking about potential Category 4 now.

here is latest from NHC:

Storm is looking to try to clear out the eye which is a sign of intensifying

GOOD/BAD Scenarios

some models are showing it curve out north and miss florida and some models are now showing it stalling possibly thus dumping stupid amounts of water

Agreed. I get that it isn't an exact science and it's better to be safe than sorry but they definitely know their viewership skyrockets when they go all chicken little and say the skies falling. In Texas the worst that happens is you hang out in your closet for a while during tornadoes but when you have people packing up and leaving their homes you should make sure it's actually going to be a significant event rather than try to win sweeps week.

Will know tomorrow night or Saturday if it’s going to get My area. If so gonna get 3-4 days worth of chicken and lean beef for grilling 3-4x a day. Just gotta plug fridges in to power generator to keep meat cool. I got tons water as is being I drink 1.5 - 2 gals daily. But I like it cold so gonna have to plug the water jug dispenser in too.

Will need to plug the coffee machines in too.

Oh and my blender. Because I like 1 big ass smoothie during the day.

Chargers for my devices too I gotta keep em charged.

My cpap machine I should plug in to which last time it’d stop once or twice in the middle of the night Then I had to get up, go outside in the dark and fill up then start up the generator all over. Then go back to sleep.

Florida it’s harsh

I don't like how it's projected to come straight into the coast, usually we get ones that come up the coast and stay offshore and just dump a chitload of rain on everyone, this thing is gunna battering ram right into our angus

SRS, this.

Watch the track "unexpectedly" change and go immediate north.

I can't stand the panic and hysteria every time.

And if it does hit, I've been through multiple hurricanes and its never bad other than power outages and some wind. People blow hurricanes out of proportion. Modern Florida infrastructure is designed for hurricanes. Unless its a Cat 5+ I'm not worried.
