Yeah it's pretty crazy. I live in a part of NJ that got absolutely rekt by hurricane Sandy. We're talking massive flooding, houses washed into rubble, power out for weeks, etc. At no point did I ever go hungry or thirsty. These people buying cases and cases of chit aren't preparing for the worst they're preparing for the apocalypse lol.

I heard Ft Myers is starting to get really built up and crowded too. There doesn't seem any safe place left the amount of people migrating here is insane with all of the Boomers retiring up north and moving to Florida.

I'm looking to get out of the state completely next year

I live in a once small, quiet beach side town that was nice and it got completely transformed. Gridlock traffic on the roads, every restaurant has a wait, and new homes/apartments popping up everywhere. Can't even enjoy the beach anymore because I can't get parking. It sucks.

When Hurricane Irma hit BERBUDA (i.e. lowlying bum**** nowhere island made of wood and chewing gum) as a Cat 5... one person died.

Anything built post-Andrew there is a 0.000% chance you're in danger. Make sure you have food and water for a week in case infrastructure gets knocked out.

Just hit the liquor store and loaded up. Library tomorrow for a bunch of good DVDs to watch off a laptop - worst case scenario but better safe than sorry.

See, this is rational. And the people who die in hurricanes almost always occurs after the storm by doing something stupid like swimming in flood waters by power lines and getting electrocuted.

People were shoving each other at my grocery store today to try and get whatever they could off the shelves with sheer panic on their faces. All these northerners are swayed by the media thinking its going to blow over houses and buildings.
