Yeah the game itself looks amazing. Again I wouldn't expect a top-tier shooter out of it, but everything looks so good as a whole

Until now, the only thing we said about multi was that it was in R&D. As we’re getting closer to launching ‘single player’ Cyberpunk 2077 in Apr. 2020, we’d like to confirm that multiplayer's in the works!

Not buying because I expect it to be the best shooter I ever played. But I'm willing to bet it will be the best (or close to it) adventure/story game I've ever played.

I know you're hyped for this but CDPR hasn't released enough good games to be called the GOAT lol. They're 1 for 3. They need like....this to be a 95%+ average and one more game afterwards to be a 90+% average to be in contention for the GOAT...

They're already doing enough that makes them better than 90+% of devs. No pay to win, free DLC's, etc.

They show consistent improvement and a dedication to the fans; that alone is worth paying attention to. Every other dev seems to ship worse and worse with each release and think of new ways to shaft us.

Exactly. They're already amazing simply by showing how much they actually just care about their customers and giving them an amazing game, not just the dollar. Obviously they're in business to make money, but they're showing that they know when to separate that **** from being greedy like almost every other dev out there.

- FREE DLC's
- Everyone gets identical in-game content regardless of package you pre ordered. IE: No in game skins, guns, etc included for pre ordering anything more than the basic game. (This alone knocks out like...what...EVERY current game dev in existence?)
- Have said a hundred times now that they will have absolutely no in game purchases available

I’d consider Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine separate CDPR entries, those expansions are bigger and better than some full games and are both 9+/10s


But yeah, this game is looking fukkn awesome

And funnily enough, not trying to rip customers off has made them a lot of money; consumer trust is something that will carry a company further than any loot crate.

I do think bartosh's point still stands. Everything they've released has been part of the Witcher franchise at the end of the day. CP 2077 will be their first FPS, and it's not hyperbole to claim their opening crack at the genre is the most ambitious single-player title in a long time. It's a gargantuan undertaking even established triple AAA devs given a free hand might not pull off successfully.

They've given us plenty of reasons to be hyped AF though

Of course it's worth paying attention to. They're anincredible game studio but maybe I just hold the GOAT title in higher regard.

Most other devs are shipping worse but definitely not all. For example, Nintendo has produced numerous 10/10 games at this point across multiple genres. Rockstar releases banger after banger (and that's acknowledging i hated rdr2, still a masterpiece). Plenty of game studios that are still great and have a more demonstrated history of excellence.

Base game was amazing but it is getting wrung dry at this point.

As for the new trailer.

Since there’s no real urban culture in Poland you can tell all the “ghetto” people are gonna be cringe and cliche tropes glorified in a cuck way.

Like an outsider looking in and creating a caricature of what they see. It’s also not “cool” content it just looks like a lot of lame places to visit.

The character models also look last gen already and somehow generic.

The driving looks kinda cool but constrained. It also seems like it’s that same plaza in every shot.

Can someone give me a cliff notes version of what this recent "drama" is surrounding the game? I keep seeing YouTube vids popping up on my feed talking about new drama/controversy/issues but I haven't bothered sitting through a 30 minute video explaining it. I know I saw one thing about there not being gender options or something like that?

The latest drama was about how “all cutscenes are now in first person”, people were losing their chit and blabbing about boycotting CDPR and all types of other stupid crap when that hit its peak. I wasn’t in the loop for any of the other drama

People are being goofy @ this game and this isn’t the last we’ll see of it, just look at KingSWRV’s post up there

This. And some people were butt hurt that there is no 'gender' selection option like "male' and 'female' and instead there are just sliders that effect body type. Couldn't care either way myself.

That the environment may feel generic comes more from playing a custom character in a world based on a board game. Not from Polish devs being incapable of understanding what it's like to be a poor minority in the hood.

Other than the "lame places to visit" line, I'm inclined to agree. Those are all very legitimate criticisms. I've been noticing the graphics in the gameplay footage videos as well. They're decent but certainly not mind-blowing. Driving does look a little stiff - but that's yet to be tested.

I'm still hyped as fuk for this game regardless. But me personally living in and around Detroit for most of my life, I'm sure I'll have potential criticisms on the gangs/slums/lifestyle. Hope they did some consulting in their research.

Cyberpunk 2077 is built on the next generation of the engine used for Witcher 3, there’s no reason to think it won’t look awesome at release. I think the Deep Dive video looks wicked in 4K, but the live stream obviously sucked.

I’d expect the driving to be somewhat lacklustre, it’s not a driving sim just like Witcher 3 wasn’t a horseriding sim. I also wouldn’t expect a top-tier shooter out of Cyberpunk

CDPR employed City planners when laying out their environments, damn rights they consulted with outside sources in developing their NPCs etc

What I do expect Cyberpunk to excel in is everything RPG. The one quest branch they went through in the Deep Dive video sounds more fleshed out than entire main storylines in some other games. I’m fukn loving the setting and the backstory
