Can you dunk?

I can hang from the rim with both hands. And I can palm the ball. I think I need two extra inches of vertical to get it. I probably need to improve my jumping technique as well. My standing reach is 7’7” so I’d say my vertical is around 32 inches

Can any miscers dunk?

last time i tried to dunk, i threw the ball off the backboard, caught it, put it between my legs and threw down a reverse 360. bishes were mirin.

I did it once when I was 16, but the ball had perfect grip and the hoop was a bit below regulation. It felt awesome though at the time.

Used to be able to throw it down with style. Could still grab rim last time i tried but not sure if i could still dunk. Doubt it

I could at one time, but just barely and I had to be feeling pretty good. Though my biggest limiter was being able to hold on to the ball. I can still palm a basketball and wave it around a little, but any serious movement and I drop it. It made dunking really difficult.

It has been 10 years or so...

I have a solid grab still, but need 4 inches back to regain enough height.

My personal mass is likely the problem.

Best I could ever do is dunk a tennis ball.

That was from about age 16- mid twenties.

Love thesethreads. Somehow all of these white guys 'used' to be able to dunk in hs or college. Same thing with bench, ACT/SAT scores, income, etc.

When i was much lighter, I could grab the rim with both hands.

Almost could dunk with one hand, but couldn't handle the ball weight overhead properly. Could dunk with a smaller ball though.

6 footer male here btw.

IDK seems more like being able to run a 6 minute mile.

Not bad. Also not hard to do for anyone athletic that trains a bit.

Also significantly easier when you are 20...

At my height, there weren't many people who could even grab the rim with both hands. I would say most people 6"2 would be able to dunk if they are light and athletic. Anyone taller who can't has weak genetics IMO

Probably at your height. Just find it funny all of these delusional stories people have about their athletic prowess in hs. The 40-yard dash time is the worst. Everyone somehow ran a 4.4 40.

My buddy was pretty athletic in hs, 6'0" multi-sport athlete, ended up playing baseball at a small college. His brother was a year younger than us, 6'10". behemoth of a dude. Couldn't dunk, awful (I mean awful) football player, two left feet, etc. Was odd seeing a guy that big getting bullied for being unathletic.

I played with a guy who was 6'9" 300lbs but had the athleticism of someone 7'9". He got bullied until he cried srs. Every fukkin practice coach murdered this poor guy. I wish I would have had the cajones to stand up for him.

A lot of tall guys I know report people trying to start **** with them. Same with some bodybuilders as well.
