Been doing a lot of jump training lately. Hate how out of shape I am despite being stronger and looking better lol.

Like someone posted above the coaches would give him **** because he was so bad at basketball and football, as if he was a waste of talent. Not to mention he looked 40 at 17. He would get mistaken for an adult all of the time when we were in hs. Felt bad for him.

I haven't tried to dunk in years but I'm sure I still could. I have an 8'1" standing reach so I don't have to jump that high. My wingspan is only 6'6" but I have a really short neck so my shoulders are a lot higher up than most people my height
6'2"

The only things I need to dunk are cookies and doughnuts. WTF would I care about dunking a basketball?
I get a tax deduction just by hanging out here

The bad jumpers seem to not be able to link the full chain together. Conservation of momentum, Quad firing, claves firing, and leg drive.
The weight also is often an issue. My legs are significantly stronger than they were in high school. I also weigh 60 lbs more.
This does 2 things. First is obviously that I need to generate more force to overcome the increased mass. Secondly, I have lost the ability to transition my horizontal momentum into vertical momentum.

Can not do the Horse Box thingy and Dunk - that's impossible both at same time - unless was Sat on it (and it'd be un-comfy for a prolonged time) and I was throwing the Ball round in rotation to Team-mates - know that would be like epic, epic x 10000

I follow college basketball fairly closely, he isn't even ranked on any sites. I don't see any offers. There are under 6'0" guys who have been great collegiate players and some (although a tiny percent) who do well in the NBA. From the little I've seen he is not one of them, dribbling like a gimmicky streetballer is meaningless.
*Apparently he has an uncomfirmed offer from UTSA and is unranked.

Easy couple inches are on the table with a few weeks of training.
The harder thing is transitioning horizontal momentum to vertical once you are heavier and your knees are torn apart.

Always had a pretty good vert for a big guy and can still 2 hand it although I’m 6’8. When I was in college I got one down off a drop step at 380 lbs (my playing weight), was one of the sweetest athletic feats I’ve ever pulled off.
Edit: rolled my ankle pretty bad a possession or two later shooting a three with nobody anywhere near me so that took away from the awesomeness of the dunk and coach told us we couldn’t play city league ball anymore after that.

I could put it in two handed from 17-20. I don't play often anymore, but after a warm up I can get a WNBA caliber dunk in if I'm lucky. If i quit being a fatass I could probably get back to some regular one handed ones.
