We live in an era where YouTube has turned from DIY guides, reviews, and useful experience to bullchit clickbait for ad revenue.

Lol at Benching just for chest......Do you even compound lift?

also, just because your bench/form/weight is chit doesn't mean you should try to convince others the movement is crap. My bench is literal CHIT in comparison to other lifts and my stats, but I still do it and recognize the usefulness of the movement.

Should you ONLY do Bench for chest....no, but it should be incorporated weekly.

First they came for the deadlift, and I did not speak out- because I didn’t deadlift

Then they came for the squat, and I did not speak out- because I didn’t squat

Then they came for the bench- and there was no one left to speak for me

Fuark but a video of a DYEL turbo manlet doing a bunch of chest isolation movements with questionable form has got me seriously rethinking whether I need to bench or not

Love the bench, some are built for it some aren't. That being said, reverse band incline BB is the GOAT

When in doubt, add more rubber bands.

I need to give those a shot actually. My shoulders hate incline pressing with a BB or DB's, but the smith machine/reverse band combo looks intriguing.

You really think so? I think the beauty of them is letting you work in the shortened range, something squats can't do.

There's definitely merit to hitting the shortened range in the workout, but there's a pretty good argument to be made that the mid-lengthenEd range is your best opportunity for adding tissue and should be your focus for the meat and potatoes of the workout . Check out this quickish logic

How enormous and powerful would your triceps need to be, before you want to “isolate” your chest. Surely nobody is fully content with their triceps? Same idiots then go on and do a load of triceps work

Interesting, thanks bro. I do most of that anyway just because they're the exercises I like.

If you do pec fly to utter failure, then literally run to the bench press while gulping as much air as you can and benching immediately at a slow speed, it isolates your chest, your chest gets totally fried while the triceps etc don't give a ****. If you want to try it, you need to load the bench to sub 50% 1RM if you truly fail on the pec fly first.

Nah, I can barely do 3 plates these days.

I did hammer wide chest, one arm at a time for 3 x 30 rep sets with 4 plates a side, then hammer incline then hammer dip for the same reps/sets.

Haven't even touched DBs this month

This is my point, why would anyone want to only work their chest, when there are exercises that work multiple muscles including the chest? If you do what you have proposed there, your triceps won’t be at all stimulated, so they you have to go and hit them with a ton of skullcrushers etc in order to ensure they are worked.
