Some of you guys have absolutely no idea how powerful wild boars are. Also, their skulls and hide are incredibly thick.

My grandfather owned a small cattle ranch when I was a teen, here in Oklahoma and we hunted boars because they'd kill the calves. Even with shotguns and .30-06 rifles, it often took numerous shots to stop them and we had a few close calls when they'd charge our four-wheelers after being shot.

You're not stopping a full-grown boar with anything but a firearm. They're vicious animals and hard to kill.

From what I can tell, you didn't try wrestling them down.

It's one of the reasons boar hunting is popular. There's an element of danger that's not present in deer or wing hunting. Like the Safari hunts of decades ago, you're not careful and you become the prey pretty easily

I've taken a few wrestling classes and feel confident in my ability to put the boar in a solid choke hold and make him tap in under 20 seconds.

Only real defense is to climb a tree or something to that effect.

I've watched enough survival shows to know- they say boars are very dangerous, aggressive animals.

Often time more aggressive than bigger, scarier animals.
