Georgia Code states that “a person is justified in using force which is intended or likely to cause death or great bodily harm only if he or she reasonably believes that such force is necessary to prevent death or great bodily injury to himself or herself or a third person or to prevent the commission of a forcible felony. ”

This is the way self defense law should be written all over the world.

Unfortunately here in Canada we have to almost be dead before we're legally allowed to do anything back.

You know what really deters people coming to your school or home and shooting you?

Shooting them first.

We could prevent many of the mass shootings every year if they would end in the murderer being shot and the video circulated.

doesnt matter. dadbods were in their property and teens showed up with guns.

that article links to another one that says he's truck driver and it was around 4am, video interview has a neighbor reiterating over and over that he's a "nice dude" and he would've given them anything they wanted

wouldn't be surprised if he had an AR at the front door or something, sounds like they just chose the wrong house

The story linked in the OP sure doesn't sound like premeditated murder or execution of incapacitated persons. Granted it's early and many details are not out, but based on what has been given so far...doesn't sound like that at all.

We are all dumber for listening to attempted comparisons between legitimate self defense, and murder.
