Brb only to start a convo and sometimes be left on read because of one mistake. Brb anxiously waiting for a reply after an interview, basically being someone's complete bytch, like a dog that awaits his owner after a long day at work for some food. that ^ now if you have a stem degree you shouldn't be completely **** out of luck.you might have to move though. this is why I love construction. I just quit my ****ty restaurant job and already have interviews for like 3 jobs. now im not a skilled trade yet but imagine a journeyman electrician. you could find work within an hour if you lose your job

I'm in accounting. I had a great interview at the big 4 and am still waiting for a response. Sucks cause I have strong oneitis for this place already. The application process involved iq testing and video interview with pre recorded questions, both of which helped my case.

IK this feel man. I got some calls back but they are too far commute to do everyday so I had to turn down. I wont be graduating for a few months so I still have time but I don't want to be stuck with only this part time job. Even in STEM getting a job is tough.

I'm in accounting, I just graduated last month. Most jobs are now hiring for 2020 which is fine. Trust me I want to enjoy the downtime but I need a job first for 2020. I interviewed at big 4 starting in January and God I would love this job. I moved back in with my parents but if they give me an offer, trust me I'm going to do my best to have as much fun as I can until then. Gonna take out a $5k loan and move back to my college city and party fukn hard. I cannot do that without a job. All I did up until my interview since moving back was just apply constantly and play haxball when I needed a break. World feels so cold sometimes during the job hunt grind.

I'm guessing something is off if no one is replying to me. Out of 40 applications only one replied to me, and that was big 4. How is it that I get an interview for one of the best (arguably 2nd best after advisory and best in assurance) entry level positions anyone in my shoes can get but small ass firms won't even respond to me. This shows me that my CV is probably trash cause the big 4s application process is different. I didn't even submit a CV for this position. As part of their application process they make you play games to test your intelligence, which I fukn dominate, and make you do a (not live, pre recorded questions) video interview, which again is a strong suit. I can talk for days.

It just seems messed that no one else wants to even reply. Going to apply to another big 4 tmrw cause I know they have these games and video interviews so it gives me a chance to shine.

I have been refused from working in several restaurants in my early 20s, I gratefully ended up having two small sized businesses afterwards. Tbf even if u have been refused from terrible jobs, thingscanturn out well.

I kinda feel sad being in limbo. Especially with how great the interview went. It was just at the end I had a holy shyt moment at her words like"when we hire you" and how much praise she had for my attitude and how she'll contact me about next steps that I started doubting if I'm deserving and social anxiety kicked in hard and she could tell.

Despite what know it all miscers repeat about big 4 ad nauseam despite not even knowing the field there is no better start to your career in accounting and it gives valuable experience and allows you to learn a lot. It sucks cause I am only thinking about this position now and can't find the motivation it seems to apply until I know. They take a week to let you know apparently which is going to be fun. I've already checked my email 10 times today.

If I get this, and can stay for a fair bit, I would likely become a lot more marketable. Employers respect someone who's grinded it at a big 4 firm.

It sucks and is incredibly demoralizing. Speaking of Accounting - that's what my Masters is in, and I still went through a long period afterwards of either working shyt jobs or being unemployed (everyone wants experience, but no one wants to give it to you - even the most low level jobs). I was in San Diego during that time though, and I suspect that was a factor. I ended up in a different field and relocated.

I am very good at math(srs). But I cant go back to school again to become an electrician. Im gonna have a degree in engineering in a couple of months but im working part time right now too for min wage.

lol what OP. the reason no one is responding to you is because they already hired all their entry level positions for 2019. the next time they hire entry level will be June-Sept 2020. at this point you're going to a mid-chit tier firm, or a firm that was unable to get enough of last summers interns to accept offers.

The entry level process is unbearable for Accounting. You are already too late essentially, you are going to have to settle and build your way up. You can still work your way to six figures relatively quickly, or try to pivot to the Big 4 entry level after working and being promoted at something less prestigious.

You can always take the easy way out if you don't want to work the hours and live the lifestyle and just accept a path with less earnings potential. Or you can grind yourself to death early on in your career while you are young and then have a decent amount saved/invested and a great paying low stress job when you are a bit older.
