Why are only 3.8% of geniuses female?

Gotta wonder if everyone is getting tested or if more men than women are tested? Also is the test is actually reliably able to measure overall intelligence vs. learned knowledge or "book smarts"?
Didn't think the bell curve distribution was new information. It might contribute to the "glass ceiling" but it isn't the only thing or likely even the largest factor.
Geniuses in general get bullied way way more than others. Being an outlier on either side of the bell curve is a tougher road.
https://www.verywellfamily.com/how-b...student-460594
It also may be that females present as less intelligent to fit in.
Females have suffered more social pressure to conform for many generations. Women that didn't conform were labeled, outcast, punished...see: whore, slut, witch, etc. For a long time the majority of men were illiterate and for a woman to learn to read was considered unseemly. Men haven't had such restrictive selection pressures applied. Men could act more freely and receive less censure for it.
Heck, a long standing selection bias for meek females may be a part of the supposed trend of males becoming less masculine/lower test.

women have a very narrow iq range. Was looking at some research recently titled "are women too normal".
Extremely low percentage of women reach an iq of 130 but at the same time there are significantly less dumb women than men and very few "retarded" women

I guess because for centuries whilst men were busy building dumb things like the Pantheon and inventing electricity etc. women were looking after babies and housekeeping - which was a pretty important thing when there were no fridges, modern childcare or Mexican house cleaners.
But now in our more equal, technological society where women don't have babies until they are 35, they can do amazing things too, like gender studies theories and ruining Star Wars.

I am no WK. So fukc all y'all sloots.
HOWEVER... it's probably a case of men giving a **** about IQ tests far more than women do.
Most people who talk about IQ tests and their scores are dumb aszzes. IQ number is not a very good way to measure genius.

There's kinda two problems I have here.
1. The IQ test sucks. Look up the Flynn effect: how the average IQ flew up in the late 20th century then has started tracking back down again. Miscers ITT are using it to draw evo-psych arguments about what men and women were like 100,000 years ago, how the fuk can you draw that conclusion from a test that can't even remain stable for 60.

2. Like other posters ITT, I wonder how many women are taking these tests. Most of the studies I've seen are like Norway army conscription chit where they make every incoming draftee take the test. But googling it, all their draftees were men until 2015 (gotta love Scandinavian liberalism - not only is putting women in the army a great idea, it's so good we're gonnadraftthem in there...). And women give literally zero fuks about their IQ score, while certain insecure autists on Reddit/Quora are quite worried about it. So I'm wondering if there's some selection bias going on.

While you have internet wizards who staunchly stand by their IQ 145 scores and praise IQ all day (which essentially, is a test continuing kindergarten pattern-recognition type questions, and has nothing of the complexity and abstractness found in, for example, long chains of logical deduction in math), I don't consider this camp to be geniuses. But again, this is just me: what it means to be a genius, if this even has meaning at all, is different from person to person. You wot m8, pretty sure the consensus on determining if someone is a genius is IQ over X level
Edit: I'm convinced the sole purpose of IQ [at the upper side of the spectrum] is to give people who have never contributed anything of note, a means to say they are "smart". I'm sure the lower side of the IQ spectrum has actual uses in psychology/neuropsychiatry in identifying mental handicap etc.. But the upper side? Not so much.

Women have only recently gotten some freedom in civilized society, it's 1000 years too early to discuss this topic objectively.
Also genius is about unique recognized contribution to a field of study, ahead of years of dedication by others.
It takes especially unique creativity and independence of thought. You can't determine a genius by IQ if they
haven't done anything worthwhile.
*IT ALSO takes high skill, so that eliminates the modern bull**** artists selling a blank canvas and

Okay, listen here *******s and Iโm going to learn you on it. Itโs beause the standard of deviation from the mean for men is higher than it is for women. Itโs because of the natural reproductive function of women wanting to mate with only the strongest male, so the chances of a male mutating into super smart fuark is higher. If he was smart, heโd get all the ladies, who are all relatively baseline, but would get his enhanced genes.
The chances that a man is also a complete retard is also just as high though. Thatโs just how it works

Didn't think the bell curve distribution was new information. It might contribute to the "glass ceiling" but it isn't the only thing or likely even the largest factor.
Geniuses in general get bullied way way more than others. Being an outlier on either side of the bell curve is a tougher road.

IQ tests don't measure book smarts, but ability to take know variables and extrapolate the knowns to the unknowns. Basically your ability to figure things out.
A basic education (elementary) and reading comprehension is required to max your few extra points.

Further, i would bet that american education and curriculum lends itself toward iq tests more than african. I would also bet that the more you take the test, the higher your iq. How do you measure whether or not someone has been previously exposed to the types of question on the iq test? How do you know whether or not someone was previously exposed throughout their life to a line of thinking present in the iq test? If someone takes an iq test 5 times is only their 5th time counted?

Most of the "geniuses" in history have been dudes who didn't have to work 40+ hrs a week and could sleep half the day, then devote every waking hour to their craft/research. Modern day equivalents of NEETs. Let that sink in
