Can't see what can be done. The Trump Administration will certainly not put any pressure on Xi. And for what? What is actually going on? Initially, the protests were about that Bill. That has since been shelved - apparently due to the actual protests and resistance. The protests are still going on? Now it is about what? Does Hong Kong want to be COMPLETELY separated? Maintain/have complete autonomy? What allies does Hong Kong have, bar journalists and armchair analyzers?

Your post has zero bearing on anything that I've said.

You're right, the US will likely not intervene. But it's one thing to look at a protest that has occured because a group of persons has realized their lack of rights is unfair. A protest, that is much like those that shaped the foundations of America. It's one thing entirely, to look at that protest, and say "Hey, I understand and empathize with those humans."

It's another thing entirely to laugh at the HKers when they get shot.

And here we are ITT where several people seem quite pleased to watch the HKers get shot.

HK is putting China under intense scrutiny. And that's honestly huge. If you don't understand why that is important and/or why these people are so scared of a Chinese controlled Hong Kong... I got bad news.
