Amazing how many bootlickers are on here. Yeah it is pointed out that she is black because of the trend of white cops shooting black people. If you can't see why that it relevant than you are stupid as fuk.

And you are all in favor of 2nd amendment and stand your ground laws, but then use the fact that she had a gun on her DRESSER as somehow being relevant and in cops favor here. She was in her home and they were creeping around like burglars.

If you don't see what the problem is here, you should be locked in a cell with the cop too.

I don't understand the people who are so trigger happy / anxious that they can't follow basic protocol and immediately shoot upon sight.

Any LEOs in the misc that can share WTF goes through the mind of young cops that have calls like this? Are all cops trained to be jaded that any situation is a bad situation?

What happens in a situation like this if you end up shooting and/or killing the officer because hes sneaking around your house like a burglar without announcing himself? Is there any known cases of that happening?

There was a story a few years ago about a no-knock raid on the wrong house where the homeowner just went #YOLO and started blasting as the SWAT team came through his door, shot two officers before he realized what was happening and started yelling an apology and to stop shooting because his daughter was in the house.

The police chief just sort of said "we done goofed, sorry", and that was the end of it.

Honestly these cops need to sack up and realize that this is what they signed up.... a job with some inherent DANGER attached to it. Does a firefighter whine about having to run into a burning building to save someone? Even though it might cost him his life? No.... he just does it because THAT'S THE FUKKING JOB.

If you want a job that's totally safe then go work in a bank or something.

What other information do you need that may twist this back on to the victim? Regardless of any info going forward. What the cop did has no justification and should pay for his mistake/murder. The slap(s) on the wrist has gone too far for cops.

Sometimes getting all the information changes the scenario completely (Covington) and sometimes it doesn't.

It makes no sense to rush to judgement on such a serious and controversial issue until all the information is available. At the moment, it looks very bad for the police officers - but we don't know the entire story.

Not that I think it matters very much, but that's not a trend, it's a data point. What were the statistics in prior years?

Attacks on LEOs arewaydown, and have been near all-time lows for some years now, despite the "War on Police" rhetoric from the greedy union scums. Overall crime is way, way down, as well.
