Yeah, it's sad because Daisy looks fine in other movies, even fairly bangable in that awful remake of Murder on The Orient Express. Here, it's like they're going out of their way to make all the female characters as unbangable as they can, either by casting cows, old blue haired hags or taking decent looking girls like Daisy, starving them down to a-cup sized breasts, strapping them down flat anyway, and making her scowl constantly. I don't want to have sex with anyone in any of these movies, for fuk's sake. What normal man is honestly going to sit through 3 fuking movies with not a single girl they want to pound, or even would pound if given the opportunity. I'm not sticking anything in Rose Tico under any circumstances.

TFA was A New Hope part 2, it was just a set up and probably tried to put a little OG Star Wars feel in to it. I thought it couldn't get worse than JJ Binks and then Leia goes Superman, Finn? What actual purpose does he serve and his side kick Rose and their jaunt through Vegas was not entertaining. TLJ worse of all the Star Wars films. I have my tickets for the new one. Riding it out, it's one more movie. I didn't get any feelings of excitement from the trailer. It was like, that's it?

Edit...one of the biggest problems with the prequel, IMO, was we already had it played out how Anakin turned to the dark side and went ham and killed everyone in sight, not including only younglings. And it didn't live up to what we, the older original audience, thought it would of been. Star Wars through the eye's of child in the late 70's-early 80's was cutting edge and awe inspiring. Now, it's just a green screen computer movie.

Exactly. The originals are perfect as a self-contained arc thatends- we don't need to see what Luke, Leia, or Han are up to if it means completely ruining their characters so that Disney can bank on their forced appearances.

Luke becomes some cranky hermit like Yoda because apparently the confident, plucky man at the center of a hero's journey forgot the three movies of growth he went through? The most gut wrenching thing about these movies is nothing that happens within their stories, but watching Mark Hamill's interviews that show how dead he is inside after finding out how badly his character was botched.

Or Han dying? That wasnotHan "IDGAF" Solo, that was some softy imposter who went from, "yeah, the force - whatever you want, kid," to, "IT'S REAL. EVERYTHING," sounding like the space Scientologists got a hold of him some time before TFA.

In fact, the revelation that, nope, Palps somehow survived falling into a bottomless pit than fukkingexploded in the middle of space, now renders Darth Vader/Anakin's entire arc of redemption rather futile since his sacrifice did fukk-all in the long run to stop the Emperor.


Thanks to the weird timeline placement off in the middle of who-knows-when, they left far too many questions up in the air as to what in the hell happened after ROTJ. By the sound of things, they're now forced to gobackto explain since they eventually realized that between Rian Johnson intentionally fukking up and the awkward time jump, they need to do the character and world building that they should have been bloody doing in the first movie.

It really is pathetic, and another fine example of why companies like Disney could get away withanything: they have enough blind idiots to rely upon for an easy box office breakout because they can slap on their trademarked license to print money on it.

Guarantee that the biggest offenders will be the ones who had conniptions over TLJ but are not only the first in line on release for this, but went out of their way to pre-order their tickets in advance.

I wanted to say something, but I am so glad it's not just me.

I swear, it's as though every scene inStar Wars, Daisy Ridley is caught doing the weirdest faces - like she's holding in a massive sh*t or something. Everywhere else in the media/known universe, she's almost a completely different looking person.

They always happen to catch her like the director said, "okay - lookangry. No, not like 'you want to kill somebody' angry, but 'you ate the whole burrito without taking Chipoltaway' angry. Now look angry, sad, confused, and like you're trying answer a really hard question on the SAT - all at once."

And they're shining a light right into her eyes the whole time so she's forced to squint awkwardly. Whatever it is, I think you're onto something about them going out of their way to be as anti-gold-bikini-Leia as humanly possible.

The youtube comments are ripping the trailer apart, lol. There is a mass hatred for what they've done to this franchise. JJ Abrams is a good director, he must feel extremely confident he can regain some of the fans that were lost after TLJ. I don't think he'd want to associate himself with this dumpster fire if he didn't have a plan.

Leave it at that. Rogue One was pretty solid, and felt like Star Wars. Force Awakens wasn't awful, but it was weak.......it could have been salvage with a strong sequel. Last Jedi was abysmal in every way. It was so bad that we are all debating ITT whether or not they can save the trilogy with the new movie. Generally we all think the answer is no.

Lots of theories on what "The Rise of Skywalker" is refering too. Some people think a Skywalker is a new order of Jedi who is at peace with both the light and dark side of the force, the other theory (and has been all along) is that Rey is a Skywalker.

in tfa every character is so confused they dont know what the fuark they are doing. there's no compentant character. in order to have a properly evil character, you need to have someone sharp, focused, squared away and deeply ideologically evil. kinda like darth fukin vader. not a dude whos is struggling with his personal identity like kylo ren.

meanwhile finns flippant dereliction of duty and clumsy plot armor undoes everything we know as a society about military indoctrination. imagine like a greyworm type character instead of finn. deeply militaristic but with a deeper ideological opposition to the empire.

Exactly. The originals are perfect as a self-contained arc thatends- we don't need to see what Luke, Leia, or Han are up to if it means completely ruining their characters so that Disney can bank on their forced appearances.

Luke becomes some cranky hermit like Yoda because apparently the confident, plucky man at the center of a hero's journey forgot the three movies of growth he went through? The most gut wrenching thing about these movies is nothing that happens within their stories, but watching Mark Hamill's interviews that show how dead he is inside after finding out how badly his character was botched.

Or Han dying? That wasnotHan "IDGAF" Solo, that was some softy imposter who went from, "yeah, the force - whatever you want, kid," to, "IT'S REAL. EVERYTHING," sounding like the space Scientologists got a hold of him some time before TFA.

In fact, the revelation that, nope, Palps somehow survived falling into a bottomless pit than fukkingexploded in the middle of space, now renders Darth Vader/Anakin's entire arc of redemption rather futile since his sacrifice did fukk-all in the long run to stop the Emperor.


Thanks to the weird timeline placement off in the middle of who-knows-when, they left far too many questions up in the air as to what in the hell happened after ROTJ. By the sound of things, they're now forced to gobackto explain since they eventually realized that between Rian Johnson intentionally fukking up and the awkward time jump, they need to do the character and world building that they should have been bloody doing in the first movie.


It really is pathetic, and another fine example of why companies like Disney could get away withanything: they have enough blind idiots to rely upon for an easy box office breakout because they can slap on their trademarked license to print money on it.

Guarantee that the biggest offenders will be the ones who had conniptions over TLJ but are not only the first in line on release for this, but went out of their way to pre-order their tickets in advance.

I wanted to say something, but I am so glad it's not just me.

I swear, it's as though every scene inStar Wars, Daisy Ridley is caught doing the weirdest faces - like she's holding in a massive sh*t or something. Everywhere else in the media/known universe, she's almost a completely different looking person.

They always happen to catch her like the director said, "okay - lookangry. No, not like 'you want to kill somebody' angry, but 'you ate the whole burrito without taking Chipoltaway' angry. Now look angry, sad, confused, and like you're trying answer a really hard question on the SAT - all at once."

And they're shining a light right into her eyes the whole time so she's forced to squint awkwardly. Whatever it is, I think you're onto something about them going out of their way to be as anti-gold-bikini-Leia as humanly possible.
The implications for Luke and Vader/Anakin (the latter especially because the Rise, Fall and Redemption of Anakin Skywalker is one of my favorite arcs in sci-fi) have gotten me SO fcking hot. Like Anakin was supposed to be the chosen one. His whole schtick is that he is both tragic and he is at least loosely modeled on Jesus Christ (born without a father to midichlorians, supposed to save us from the Dark Side or "sin", subsequently dies for our "sins" or to bring order back to the force/world, etc.). But I promise you that the thinking of the new trilogy is "lul Anakin wasn't the Chosen One it was REY AND SHE'S A STRONG WOMAN ISN'T THAT GREAT/BETTER???" Like dude sit the fck down I'm so disappointed at this point with the writing and how badly the new movies have absolutely smeared the original 6 episodes/Skywalker arc.
