Hey all.

Im definitely having a hard time in general adjusting to my new life.
Shortly after getting the clean scan.
My [now ex] gf of 4 years split and moved back home.
I returned back to work
I moved into a new apartment
Add to it, ive been struggling keeping up at work. Mentally and physically.
Its difficult these last 3 years of my life have been so structured and revolved around appointments and etc. That my life seems so empty, meaningless or unstructured without it all.
I think im just so disappointed in myself for not being able to handle this much better. I always felt like such a strong and determined personally mentally prior to all this. but really just kinda feel like a shell of myself.

Just needed to vent.

Dude you just spent 3 years literally fighting for your life. It's like you went to war, adjusting to the normal life that you couldn't wait to get back to is going to take some time. Take it easy on yourself.

Just keep fighting bro. Remember that nothing worthwhile in life is easy, and you’ve gotten too far to give up or take your foot off the throttle.

Women come and go, and consider yourself lucky because she’s gone and it gives you time to find someone better.

I’m confused at your statement of not being able to handle this better. Man, we all think you’ve done a remarkable job for one reason alone: you’re still here, and that’s the hardest and most important part of it all.

Remember, time heals all wounds, physical and mental, so keep your head up.

If you still need someone to vent to, PM me. The Misc is here for you, brother.

Please tell me you’re speaking to someone,

This is not unusual Dennis, you have had a really chitty time, your fight hormones have been in overdrive, PTSD is not uncommon and normality can seem weird, empty almost ghost like

You need more strength to rebuild a normality

And you should get help to do so

I can't imagine what you've been through. You're a warrior. Everyone's journey is different and I can't tell you to not feel defeated, but if you want to talk to someone just to vent i'll give you my number and listen if you PM me. You're stronger than 99% of the world for what you've done.

All of this. Dennis you have no idea how inspiring you are. You fought so hard for so long and beat cancer. There's no way you're going to come out of that the same person. As Bezerker said, it's time to write a new chapter of your life.

If you need structure, add some. Why not volunteer to help cancer patients at the hospital? Or some other volunteer option that requires you to be someplace at a certain day and time? There are lots of organizations out there that need volunteers.
