You should probably only have him get ammo delivered to your place in AZ if he will be picking it up and taking it to somewhere else in AZ, or any state other than CA, to shoot it, before he returns to CA
sounds good. thats what he wants to do, he has a hunt here. but he probably also wants to take it back to poverty Ca.

i had my fiveseven with me this last weekend down by the border. like 8pm way out in the desert this dude comes flying down the road were camped on and when he saw our camp he slammed on the breaks came to a complete stop and had his headlights on us for a minute or 2. i thought it was about to go down but he drove off kinda slow and we never saw him again. was just kinda weird.

the area i was in showed no illegal traffic where a few years ago it was covered with trash

So my small rifle safe in the master closet failed. Its a gunvault ive had for about 12 years. Couldnt figure out how to open it so i grabbed a hammer and smacked the handle for about 30 seconds and it opened right up. Nice safe. Any recommendations on a small rifle safe?

lol, newsom in CA is having californians spied on in reno at gun shows, etc.

people scan for CA plates and report to CHP and they get pulled over and inspected for transporting magazines and ammo back into the state.

this is one step from being gestapo. next is having fellow citizens reporting on each other

Any of you guys purchased a chassis for a rifle before? Have a 700 action that needs a new home. McMillan stocks aren't that much cheaper than some of the ones I've seen online. Recommendations?

I went 2" high at 100 on my 7mm which puts me close to zero at 200 and a couple inches low at 300. Trying to take the guessing game within 300 out of the equation. I've been out deer hunting for weeks and only see Elk. I have a feeling when my deer hunt ends Thursday and my Elk starts Friday I won't see any Elk anymore, only Deer.

Side not, been carrying my Shield 9 for a few days. It was scratchy at the butt on my skin. Took a little sand paper to it last night, WOW its like night and day. So comfy IWB now

Looking for a new shotgun for deer in Ohio. I’ve been using a 12 gauge H&R slug master for years and I’m over lugging that heavy ass single shot around the woods. I’m surprisingly leaning towards a 20 gauge this time. Everything I’m reading shows with modern sabot slugs they pack enough punch and I would also like to take my nephew out in a few years and I don’t want to scare him off with the recoil of a 12 gauge (granted he’s shot my Benelli at some clays without issue). I’m thinking just a Remington 870 or Mossberg 500 to keep it simple and cheap.

Anyone have any other recommendations? A few years ago they approved straight wall cartridges, a lot of the local stores have .450 bushmaster rifles on sale, anyone have any experience with these?

My 870 has been flawless since I bought it used in 1992. Its a proven gun and I beat the chit out of it waterfowl and upland hunting. Its still my go too shotgun and I have nicer more expensive options.

Thanks! My brother in law has a wingmaster 870 he uses when we hunt waterfowl and he loves it. An 870 was the first firearm I purchased on my 18th birthday but I was young and dumb and sold it off a few years after. I’m pretty much set on getting another 870 as is, I’ve just heard the quality has gone way down recently. The used market kinda sucks around here and people either want $400 for a banged up 80s model or they’ve replace all the furniture with tacticool stocks and thrown out the originals. I’m really in no hurry so I’ll keep looking. Appreciate the feedback!

Used market sucks where I live as well. You can find better deals on new guns shipped with the transfer fee than buying used. It's pathetic

That sucks, no gun shows to be had around your area? No online local gun classifieds? Idaho we at least have Zidaho.com. That's my #1. Love paying cash with no receipts for guns.

I murdered a skunk last night with the nods...kind of an accident. It was trying to get into the chicken coop and it looked like a raccoon (no stripes) from a distance. Now the fiance wants me to get it stuffed "so it didnt die in vain." Its on ice in a foam cooler outside. Smells horrible. ****.

We have gun shows around me however it’s mostly vendors selling at the same price as the local gun stores or someone wanting 1,000 for a mosin-nagant. I browse the local armslist but it’s about the same just swap the mosin for a home stippled glock. I agree with cash deals unfortunately I haven’t found a decent selling site recently.

So today was a chit show. Heavy rains coming tomorrow evening and needed to get far section of driveway graded and potholes removed before winter. Decided to tackle late morning.

Didn't do my normal tractor walk around. If I had, I would have noticed right front tire was almost flat.

Graded one side up, then down the other leaving big piles of material at each end. Couldn't turn well coming onto bridge, look down and see tire flopping

Drove up to turn out, jacked it up and removed wheel. Took to friends shop and got it seated but its leaking all around the bead on both sides.

Overfilled it to get it to hold air long enough to get home and finish smoothing driveway.

Now I need a new tire and rim.
