Was it Vice or Vox that had thought some troll posts were serious a while back? Some lulzy chit. I don't know, I'd like to assume journalists are pretty fukkin dumb for thinking this crap, but in reality I just think they don't speak the language.

A cult would have a singular purpose or focus.
The Misc is a cult? lulz

It's an online community in the off topic category. That's it.

It's not really "journalism." It's a complete reduction of free thought and speech present on the forums to its most negative elements in order to condemn both by association.

Focusing on "inceldom" is just moving the goal posts from "toxic masculinity."

What? The misc is a cult.

a misplaced or excessive admiration for a particular person or thing.

Are we just going to ignore the incel culture and the creepy obsession with people like zyzz?

Its propaganda against masculinity. Its not about actual cult behaviour or violence but more or less controlling the masses by labelling something as bad and therefore it should be punished and/or thrown the far reaches of society.

VOX is an outlet like CNN/MSNBC etc to destroy peoples thinking.

Once enough outrage has developed then the law can come in and start punishing them for real. The lonely guy in UK who put his arm around a chick twice? She got upset and he got put on a sex offenders register for 5 years.

This is part of their end game. When groups of men start banding together they become a problem for the government and other institutions. All of a sudden that single voice you're hearing becomes a chorus.

Never in history has a group of men coming together been looked upon favourably by any opposing group that already sits on the thrones of power. Unless it serves their purpose (Antifa, Black Bloc) then they will undermine it and make it illegal.

I have made that same argument many times against posters like EOD and others here who are simply posting repeated, negative world views over and over again without variation.

Taking a step back: why would someone who can't get laid come to a bodybuilding forum looking for a discussion? Those of us who actually lift or play sports know what kind of discussions are had in the locker rooms sometimes.

So, those posters actually double down: they want to post their negative works view and foster negative dialogue i.e., abuse from others (negs, mockery etc) because even that reinforces their negative world view - that they are "shunned" as a collective.

My problem with Vox here is that they overly generalize the forum- I think the mods have done a great job here of compiling that sort of agenda-driven drivel into a single thread.

You are under the misguided impression that "masculinity" is under threat. This is a common ad hominem attack against the the me too movement/gamergate and all the other current social and political movement that are addressing the therealissue of sexual harassment in the workplace, the glass ceiling, and other real problems that women face in society.

I don't watch major corporate news networks. It's obvious which side of the isle the networks are on, and networks like OAN and Fox are essentially propaganda arms of the Republic (now Trumpist) party.

But, if anyone watches these blindly and believe everything they see on them, then I would say yeah, those people need to get some news from outside sources. I try and get my news from smaller YouTube channels with a more trustworthy source - often these are international outlets. France24, Deutsche Welle, Al Jazerra, and BBC are good. I am also preferential to Democracy Now and The David Pakman show.

I'd like to see a source for this, but walking up to some random lady and putting your arm around her just sounds creepy and weird and could be considered assault depending on the circumstances. But, based on what you said - I have no idea.

This sounds like typical incel banter insanity. I agree with the men's right movement on a number of issues, but they've been taken over by misogynist nuts who have no ideological philosophy other than attempting to destroy feminism and what they see as they see themselves losing the power they once had in the world to the "secret feminist agenda".

This just sounds so bizarre and out of historical context as to be asinine. Men have sat in the throws of power since basically the beginning of the any kind of society you want to look at, as far back as the Romans, Greeks, etc. I have no idea where you are getting this idea from.

You're clueless and you're inability to see how the media is weaponising people against each other and putting bb.com in the same camp as actual cults is proof of this.

You could argue the misc was far more of a cult when zyzz was around and the obsession with him that ensued. I hopped back on here after a 2-3 year break and nowadays all the threads have to do with some sort of incel BS or redpilled nonsense. Just take a look at the front page ffs.
Also, this site has thousands of users and with the vast majority being male, it's easy for vox to say it's misogynistic and push that angle.

Edit: Forgot about elliot rodgers and balconybrah, those definitely don't help paint the site in a positive light.

Misc is where we come to get away from the eat, sleep, work, repeat cult that is modern society these days.
Gaming for guys has replaced forums and is much more brutal and funny. It's just harder to screenshot or keep track of online game chats so they trot out these old dinosaur platforms.

We are just becoming too regulated as humans. Occasionally someone will shout out Spartacus.

Lots of people here have right leaning views socially speaking. Also a lot of people work out and look good, take pride in their accomplishments and brag about it. These are things the left hates, anything to do with meritocracy and any community of people sharing right leaning views, so of course vox will attack the misc. vox has a long track record of making completely false and stupid claims so I’m not sure why we are taking them seriously itt.

EDIT: and the idea that the misc is a cult is painfully stupid. This isn't something the misc would ever have a rational discussion about if a mod didn't make the thread, and misc is very capable of having rational discussions. Vox makes a stupid and ridiculous claim and misc should just be making fun of vox not trying to score intellectual points in a pointless debate, especially because anyone here with braincels knows we are obviously not a cult.

The way miscers passionately defend trump and go full school shooter mode when their views are slightly challenged can be seen by some as cult like.

Plus the hate for Moslems, Indians and views on women (and in some cases underage girls) definitely support the cult label it has earned.
