From a physique development type of goal. Obviously decent for overall strength / performance, but there are much better options for hypertrophy.
Always been a DB press guy, but tried dead stop barbell rack presses today (seated). Absolutely loved them and was surprised to hit 185x5. Look forward to keeping these in for awhile and progressing them
That's all, try them, juicy AF press tbh

OHP is a great staple movement. Plz go srs. Just get strong at OHP and hit accessories and your shoulders are gonna look amazing.

I know they aren't great for hypertrophy but that isn't why I do them. I mostly just train for strength

You like seated better, fine man. I like standing OHP better and you wont see me talking down to seatcels. At the end of the day this is like comparing Squats to leg press, one may be better than others for you but at the end of the day, what will give you a great physique is consistency and good nutrition.
edit: you wont ever see a dude repping 155 or more on OHP with ****ty shoulders thats for sure.

If you enjoy standing, you should 100% do standing. But don't come up with bro science telling me it's "better" because it's part of the big 4 or some **** lol

I agree OP, standing OHP is a waste of time for shoulder development. Don't need them unless you're training strongman. If you're into powerlifting there's no need either. What does that leave? Bodybuilding or crossfit? Useless for both, you're better off doing other movements.
This is coming from someone who has better/stronger shoulders than anyone else I've seen post so far ITT. LMAO at the "but it's an alpha lift" argument. No.

Seems like a good way of avoiding what I see most people doing:
Bending their knees and pushing it up with momentum.
Looking good, OP. Repped on r/c.
