I mean he always showed up in every single thread about reps and always claimed reps don't matter lol the worst thing was when they made a thread were they were boosting his reps and they even stickied that stuff on the front page.

I don't know how that stuff was tolerated in the first place the best thing would be to get rid of the rep system.

Looks like I'll fly under the radar for this one. I just don't play the rep game like a pro and have always rocked a modest and unimpressive post: rep ratio.

Ultimately, it doesn't mean chit outside the board. I've seen too many non-lifting douches with high rep power to know that the system doesn't work as it should.

I'm curious about Forum Software. A couple of people have mentioned XenForo, which I've heard is very robust and customizable. vBulletin5 is supposed to be really good. There is also vanilla Forums which is a relative newcomer.

phpBB and Simple Machines are basic and may not be able to hadle a site this big. Invision Power Boards might be able to.

What other forum software do you guys have experience with?

Let's be honest, most reds are garbage posters and shouldn't be able to make new threads.

If I got access to the code here, the first thing I'd do is restrict reds from creating new threads. It really detracts from the browsing experience.

A guy can make his first ever post on this forum, and some weird dude like fuqdatass, bobby, or any of the many douchebags that exist on this forum would neg him and thats that, you are red now.

Now, guys like you with 300k+ rep power think about that red that he isnt even worth reading. He may make a great post but you aint repping no reds thats for sure. Also you cant make more accounts since thats against the rules, so basically every noob would get fuked here.


My first post was like 2 weeks ago, it was a very good post IMO, got repped by 4 different people, then one of those guys comes and negs me with a "stfu you are red now" comment on my CP and thats that lol. Deep into the red. 4 people agreed with my post, but all it takes is one internet bully to make that go to ****.


It needed to be done. Now you see those same high repped guys and they are actually trying to make quality posts now, at least the ones that stayed in here.





edit: now, ive been very vocal about this subject on this forum, because not many people are willing to argue against all the high reppers that are crying about the change. Just as i was writing this post i got negged by some dude with 200k reps, just because im antagonizing all the members of the super high reps trading club. Not many are doing that because people still negging.


Personally i dont care, everytime i look i have less reps lol. But someone has to call them out on their ****.

Actually, you're completely wrong about me. I've openly defended reds on here before, and I've had some great debates with reds. I've also gone out of my way to rep reds that seem to be decent posters.

But that doesn't change the fact that the vast majority of threads created by reds are complete garbage. If a poster is decent, they'll get out of red soon enough.

The trade off is well worth it imo.
