First time Star Wars has looked like Star Wars since the original trilogy IMO.

It's pretty basic but they're getting it right. Star Wars desperately needed something like this.

This is the way.

100% original content.

Only posts reboots or things built straight from comic books.

out of everything u mentioned westworld is the only thing different. and then westworld tried to go super different in season 2 but everyone hated it lol i thought it was alright

the mandalorian hits all the right notes for being original, the only thing i feel like it suffers from is the ****ty episode lengths. it makes it feel super cheap. disney ****ing multi-billion dollar corporation won't even do an hour per episode, going cheap.
There is only one Hell: the one we live in now.

It's played pretty straight and serious for the most part. Some humor in the way people die.

It's put together almost exactly like the cheap Italian ie "spaghetti" westerns of the 60s. Thin plot, lots and lots of killing of nameless henchmen.

The main protagonist is just as bad as the other bad guys but is turning a new leaf to save a "kid" who just happens to be a cute cuddly alien that is perfect for merchandising.

It's Star Wars lol.... absolutely EVERYTHING will be merchandised. That doesn't mean that it's not good. Stop being such a cynical hipster.

Oh come on. It could have been a young mandalorian or some skywalker cousin in law.

They made it a baby yoda for the sole purpose of selling lots of plush dolls this Christmas.

The show reminds me of the little live action webisodes before Halo 4 came out. Its like a mini-mini series leading into a full length movie. It feels like a bunch of half hour trailers that will lead up to something bigger.

That being said, I have been really enjoying it. The Mandalorian and Rogue One are the only disney star wars stuff I have truly liked.

The kid saved his life too. He was butthurt over the fact that he didn't make an honorable kill. He also only rescued the kid when he heard they were going to kill it through his xray rifle camera. So a life for a life.

Felt very tv show to me. Worst episode so far. Can appreciate the inevitable female badass actually looking strong though.

Between this and Jedi Fallen Order, my faith was slightly restored in Star Wars. The fourth episode was easily the weakest though.

Well, just watched the entire first episode after seeing this thread.

This is exactly what star wars heavies have been wanting, a story not centered or even tangential to the Skywalkers and the fate of the galaxy. Looks really good so far.

As soon as I was thinking "they should have made his armor look cooler" he gets a piece made lol. Can't wait to see the finished version

It aint that good.

I like the force awakens better. Just because they made a bit more violent dont make it good

Tonight felt like a modern version of the original battlestar gallactica show (not a bad thing really)

There was an episode where a guy was holding a quiet town hostage because he had a cylon that obeyed his every command- same story framework

It's ok. It gets a couple of extra points just for being star wars, but it's basically a western reskinned. I kinda like the theory that the yodaling is actually a clone of yoda. I wouldnt be surprised if the fallen order crew or ahsoka turn up to take the baby at the end of the season.

This is the weakest interpretation of the episode I've ever seen lol.

And how dare you, Gina Carrano can still get it. Would let her crush my skull with them thighs.

Not saying I wouldn't bend her over. I'd just hef to reinforce my bedframe with some milk crates or stacks of books or something first.

You know it's bad when they start wearing circus tents out in public.

I think the people being critical have a point. The episode felt a bit campy and hoaky like some early 90's tv show.....like a "Walker Texas Ranger"/"Xena Warrior Princess" vibe to it, and I don't mean that as a compliment There's was just something about the episode that felt very different from the previous three.

oh, and the acting (namely among the towns folk) was absolutely atrocious. I'm talking; the asian kids from "Gran Torino" levels of bad.

Each episode is just an updated Spaghetti Western. This one just followed suit.
