i have an easy solution how about the rep power number is only visible to the user itself and not everyone else or you can just remove it and just keep the colors.

Don’t know why any new poster would just quit if they get negged. Just continue with your life. Post what you want to post without fear.
If you are posting just for reps, it won’t be as good as posting sincerely.
Certainly can’t get rid of this system; the negged gifs and people bitching about getting negged are 2 of the highlights on the misc.

If we're being serious I'm pretty sure Awatts is somewhere between 5'8-5'9 when you account for perspective, since he's standing closer to the camera than the wall in the background.

IMO keeping it as is with a bigger emphasis on keeping abuse of the system in check is the right way to go.
