Their uppers are fine as long as you're buying one built from decent components.

Anyway the point isn't to bash sons of liberty, PSA or anybody else. The thing is, there are plenty of manufacturers out there building good uppers...the issues with mine should never have happened on a $900 upper. Any company billing itself as a custom shop has to do a damn good job to differentiate themselves. I needed something very specific for what I do (in regards to muzzle device, rail length and rigidity)...if it comes up again, I'll probably just build it to avoid the hassle but assumed this would be faster...lawl

All those colors are pretty damn ugly aside from black.
Also, there's a lot of not so favorable info out there about DSL coating... To my knowledge, that actual company that patented the coating stopped applying it when longer term testing showed it wasn't performing as expected.
Edit: Maybe Geissele figured something out with it. Not saying they did or didn't or their coating is trash, but I know there was defiantly issues with it years ago. (Before they were using it on their parts.)

buying lemons sucks dude, especially at that price.

have you built a complete upper receiver before? i havent tried or even really looked into it yet but ive heard it said that it can be challenging.

btw, in case anyone is curious about FN uppers this is what i was referring to.

$700 for a complete upper with BCG. only thing im not 100% content with is the 1:7 rifling twist, id prefer 1:9 for shooting 55 grain rounds.

Not yet. Having trouble committing because these guns are brand new. No track record yet.

And also, I think the regular duty rifle might be better for what I want. It’s a heavy profile, nitrided, button rifled barrel. I want it for a scoped gun.

The super duty rifle is CHF and chrome lined. Not sure on the profile but may be more of an all purpose rifle.

Wife just picked up some tools for me from HD though.

I don’t know why you’d buy an old school setup like that with an FSB and regular Handguard when you can get an equal quality free gloated rail setup for the same price. If you want to do a cloneish or KISS gun it’s cool.

to be honest i prefer the look and feel of oldschool polymer furniture. i realize a keymod or mlok rail with free float barrel is a more accurate set up with more options, but i have no desire to hang a bunch of tactical accessories off my rifle. only upgrades i need are better trigger, optic and an extended magazine

Also just grabbed a Sonos Beam for 320 for the bedroom. They are normally 400. I have the play bar, sub, and play 1s in the living room but didn’t want to commit that amount of money for the bedroom so the beam should at least be better then TV speakers.

Came into work this morning and my brother in law threw a brand new in box Benchmade Infidel Mini on my desk. Been wanting one for a while, but no way I was going to drop $360 on one. It's way too nice to actually carry every day, so I dunno wtf I'm going to do with it now. lol

The super duty and super duty LE are different. The LE version is a bare bones gun for LE only. You have to prove you’re a cop to be able to buy one. Sorta confusing to name them pretty much the same.

Just found another deal and I bought a 36” case. Have been wanting one of these. These are the tier 1 soft cases apparently but they are pretty stiff. They have other sizes and styles too all on sale.

Tried selling $28k worth of stock today and didn’t realize the market closed at 1300 lol. Put my order in at like 1330. Luckily I was able to cancel it so I can wait and see what the market opens up at on Monday.

$0. It was stock that vested at $40k. After taxes, had 28k left and was trying to sell that to move in to a couple index funds.

It’s actually taxed as normal income. Restricted stock is like a deferred cash bonus essentially.
