If I realized what was going on being in a soon to be crossfire position I would have floored it and ran any cop over or trying to cover behind my car, infact I might have shot cops using my car as cover in a shoot out. That can't be status quo training to use pedestrian cars as cover when your about to unload hundreds of rounds of ammo at two suspects armed.

This chit got my blood boiling, the UPS driver dying is sad as phuck and any other innocent people dying or getting hurt is the same. Hopefully this gets investigated properly because that looked absolutely ridiculous, unorganized, and overkill....

The whole thing was crazy they were chasing that ups truck for a while, they could of stopped it earlier since the truck wasn’t even going that fast, problem was every time the cops got close the truck robbers starting shooting at them and they had a hostage so it made things worse.

Yep, cops are targets and they're literally putting themselves behind civilians for cover instead of finding different cover....

The least they could have done is pull people out of their ****ing cars, there's enough cops that 40 of them could have kept shooting while 10 cops get people the phuck out of there. But nope, every single cop wants to discharge their firearm instead.

I'm disgusted with the way Florida law enforcement handled this. I think every single person who witnesses this footage is in agreement too, this was handled so bad it looks like an amateur cartel shootout. Pathetic.

How many helicopters did they have on the UPS truck? 2? 3? It wasn't going ANYWHERE. Back off and wait to see where they go while being in close proximity and use the helis to tell you where they dip out at. Don't do a PUBLIC massacre in rush hour.

I highly recommend everyone who lives in a state that affords them the right to carry to do so srs. Delivery driver could have avoided the entire situation with some situational awareness and some lead.

They're not suppose to start a shoot out in the middle of a busy highway with a hostage in the vehicle, and dozens of civilians in crossfire. They had helicopters in the air, and dozens of officers in cruisers... They should back off.

This is the exact reason many LEA's have no pursuit policies

It's pretty obivous the police killed the driver from the video. And really, once they unlaoded it was a wrap.

As for how you handle this, you use your copters. Jewelry isn't worth the lives being lost. You also don't use civilian vechiles as cover. Just LOL

Look at the truck they fired first, do you expect the cops to not fire back? -and many chases are cut off in high speed situations but not low speed chases with 2 armed felons

I can tell you they should have called the chase off once it was in high traffic area. What they SHOULDN'T do is use pedestrians as cover, or cross fire, or basically anything they did. They started firing at cops who were behind pedestrians, you can clearly see it.

The cops weren’t hiding behind pedestrians they were using car engine blocks as cover like they are taught. You are making it sound like the cop was hiding behind someone

Why blame the cops and not blame the people who caused this situation to happen? If they dident do this then 2 innocent people would still be alive
