It's still 'only' $277 which is of course for the absoluteunitof a completely integrated very smooth operating beast-light, a good charger, two good 18650 batteries, and a hard case for all of it
Granted there used to be a FREEATB code intended to get you a free ammo transport bag, something they normally charge $48...the ammo transport bag is very well made BTW.
Here is an OWL next to a Streamlight Protac Railmount 2
[img]https://i.imgur.com/Atf8887.jpg[img]
Oh hell yes, I 100% swear when I looked this morning the sale wasn't showing up, but I checked just now and yeah it's back up. The sale said "through the 5th" which made me think "until the end of Thursday night". I guess the sale went down in error then they got it back up? Awesome
Yeah I was looking at getting that ammo bag too, I'll try that coupon to see if it still works because if it does the whole package with light and charger is extremely good deal at $277 let alone throwing in that bag too!
Hngg. What color should I get?
I think the FDE looks great, but I'm going to go with the gray because the Geissele upper that I got is gray too.
did you go to tonto basin and look for that kid?
No, wasn't able to and I'm not competent enough to know what I'm doing if I did... but I'm sure I could've helped out in some way to just show up. My two buddies went though, I'll pm you on Insta

The term latchkey kid became commonplace to describe members of Generation X, who according to a 2004 marketing study, "went through its all-important, formative years as one of the least parented, least nurtured generations in U.S. history."
So much freedom.

A bit about the 80's for context . . .
Part of the reason the 80's were so great was because the 70's sucked so bad. The nation was coming off the 60's boomer/hippie and Vietnam hangovers and walked right into Watergate and the oil embargo. So in a few years you had a combo of waiting in line for expensive gas (for hours and then the station was out when you finally got your turn), Nixon resigning and Ford taking over . . . and then Jimmy Carter taking over who made things worse. He was the original SJW before SJW's and he was a spineless buffoon during a time when we had the energy crisis, the Soviets always a minute away from nuking us, and Iran punking us by taking hostages in their revolution in '79. Interest rates were impossibly high--my parents had a mortgage at almost 18%. Imagine that.
There was just a kind of general feeling that America's azz was kicked and nobody had any hope or confidence. Carter looked helpless most of the time. He even had a tv speech about the "crisis of confidence" (often called the "malaise speech") at the time . . . and he wasn't exactly the kind of leader who inspired the confidence needed.
Then . . . along came Reagan. He was MAGA before MAGA. People can rail about what worked and what didn't . . . but he believed in American exceptionalism and what it could accomplish and other world leaders knew he was not Carter. Reagan beat Carter in a landslide. He cut taxes, led deregulation, increased military spending and took a hard line against the Soviets. The hostages got freed (which at the time was a huge boost and most thought they were released because the Iranians thought Reagan was going to pulverize them) and eventually under Reagan businesses grew and people generally felt pretty positive again. You got the Berlin Wall coming down, the Soviet Union collapsing, etc.
So growing up in the 80's was all about riding that wave of confidence . . . people wanted to have a good time. People wanted to succeed. You had MTV launching, arcades--and then home gaming systems being introduced, John Hughes movies, Arnold movies, etc. Parents were both working (like Raxys noted) and kids were on their own a good deal of the time and were responsible for themselves. There was tremendous freedom but also a lot of responsibility and you learned how to take care of yourself. There wasn't political correctness gone nuts. There weren't cell phones or computers (to a large degree) and kids got together and did things together.
It was just good times, generally.

Although i may be biased since that is the decade I grew up in.
