The backstory is that his Jeep got broken in to before this. He had 2 HK T&E guns in there that were taken. H&K made him pay for them and he was apparently pissed about it.

A lot of people think that stupid VP9 test where he was chucking it at steel targets was his retaliation against HK.

Didn't know all that. I don't have a dog in this fight anyway. VP9 is a mediocre gun to me and I'll never own one.

Left work early and time to kill again so went to the range. Didn’t have my stuff so grabbed a gen 4 34. I’ve owned and shot a lot of Glocks and this had the crispest Glock trigger I’ve seen. Probably just has thousands of rounds on it But no creep. Really weird. I wanted to buy it.

I’ve been avoiding shooting the Wilsons again because I know I’ll want one. Old guy next to me was shooting his nighthawk.

The 34 made me want to build up another one again. Not sure if I’ll get a gen 4 or gen 5 but all they need are sights, new guide rod and a 13lb or whatever spring you like, and a 4.5lb striker spring.

Didn't he end up doing a 2nd test of a different VP9 he received and it also failed with similar results? Can't remember if that was in the gauntlet as we know it now or still the creek style. Of course there have been other users do the same thing in youtube vids where it does really well. Also not exactly something I'd base my decision to purchase a gun. Sure I'd like my guns to be able to be dropped into the dirt/sand/mud and function, but literally burying it is slightly overkill.

Yeager posted a dumb video today about bullet selection. He was saying you should be getting 90g bullets for short barrel 9mms.

Meanwhile, data and ammo manufacturers show 147 being better because it loses less velocity and gives better penetration.

There’s a reason why Federal makes HST in 150g for short barrels. But what do they know?

Anybody have any experience with roller delayed blowback guns? I was hoping to pick up one of those stribog sp9a3's when they are approved by the atf. Estimates are showing mid-late 2020 for approval. I would assume it will end up being the later in 2020 since our gov doesn't do anything fast.

So basically these newer pistols won't be releasing until peak election time which is usually panic mode. If the dems take control of the senate and/or the presidency then it will likely be a repeat of 2012/2013 in terms of panic buying. My dilemma is do I wait until the SP9A3 with roller delayed comes out and hope I'll actually be able to find one in peak election time or do I just buy a Gen 2(straight blowback) now that doesn't have the roller delayed?

TLDR; Is roller delayed blowback a gamechanger worth waiting for in peak election time or is the diference small compared to straight blowback?

Just buy the new HK.

I think that the pricing on the RDB Stribog is supposed to be close to the new HK.

HK will be a little north of 2k. Stribog is like $675. I don't see RDB almost tripling the price. The conversion over to RDB isn't rocket surgery, some guy on arfcom did it himself in his work shop. I doubt it will even be $1000.

thats funny, because its perfectly reasonable to think that if you jam a semi auto pistol full of sand and mud it will continue to work 100% forever.

roller delayed blowback guns are bad ass, especially the HK94/MP5 variants. youre right about the timing of banics and relative pricing of HK MP5s though. if i were in the position of wanting to buy an MP5 id get a high quality clone now and try to get an HK when they become available.

from what i understand POF is good to go. Zenith is even better but i dont think those are easily available. Vector makes good HK91, HK93 and HK94 variants too.

PTR HK91s are quality and id imagine their HK94s are good too, but i havent really looked into it.

Did some side by side shopping today at Honda. Was looking at the Pioneer 700 and 1000s. The 1000 is badass but it’s huge and like $22k out the door. I like the smaller footprint of the 700 but that’s still like 17k. Kind of hesitant to get one though just because they are so much. Seems like it can’t be worth it. I dunno.

Think my wife was shopping for Xmas for me too though because it came out that she was emailing the same salesperson about a CRF450L. Something like that seems worth the cash to me. It’s basically a street legal motocross bike for like $10k.

Stopped at the range too and blasted a few mags out of the AR because I put a new buffer and spring in it and wanted to test it.

Mounting options are dildos if a LAM is required. That's what has always kept me from buying an mp5.
