And what you just said you want kind of doesn't exist.
Get training before you buy a gun. Rent/borrow for the classes. Start watching hickok45 videos on every specific gun you are interested in and take the suggested videos to spin off from there.

Manual safeties on carry guns are a dumb/bad idea. Period. If you can carry it hammer down, safety off, that's fine. But hammer back with safety on is fking retarded.

And I thought I did too. Bought a USP as my first gun. I'm not necessarily upset about that decision, but I really don't use the gun for much anymore. Once you realize you can be disciplined not to touch the trigger unnecessarily, you start to feel like a safety is mostly unnecessary. And double action trigger pull is aids.
Though for a gun I didn't carry on myself, it was nice not having to worry about a holster for a gun with a decocked hammer and a manual safety.

I own firearms with and without a manual safety, and I prefer with, and always use them unless there is a half-cock. Is it necessary? No. I get the arguments against it and it's completely fine if you don't want one.

So my day started off pretty ****ty.
Spun out during a lane change from left lane to right in icy conditions.
Hit guardrail on right shoulder with my front bumper, car spun 180 so I got a cool view of the oncoming traffic that was going to hit me.
Hit right shoulder guard rail with my rear bumper going backwards, bounced off again and was (mercifully) only clipped by another car in the rear as I hit the concrete guard rail on the left shoulder.
Mercifully, no one was injured, and the icy conditions kept the car sliding mostly forward down the road as I pinballed off the guardrails so that I didn't get T-Boned on the driver's side.
Sucks. We'll have to find out if the Cherokee will ride again...

What they mean by "universal background check" is a prohibition on buying, selling, trading, or otherwise transferring possession of something you supposedly own, unless you get (and pay for) prior written authorization from the federal government along with some convenient record keeping. In most of the country it is generally legal to, you know, sell or trade or give items that you own, including firearms, to other people, as long as you have no reason to believe they are not a prohibited person (meaning, as long as you have no reason to believe they cannot legally possess a firearm).
There is no justification whatsoever for requiring a government permission slip + record keeping to buy or sell a firearm (this is already a requirement when you buy from any store or dealer and is required for all transfers that cross state lines).
As a side effect, this would effectively register every firearm manufactured after it went into effect as well as every firearm lawfully transferred after it went into effect. Reason, the .gov could trace the firearm to the last person that received it in a transfer and that person would have to either provide the firearm or be considered guilty of transferring it without filing and paying for the proper government permission slips. Very obviously the intent is to turn the so called UBC into registration (as if UBC, which is nothing but infringement that costs time and money and makes acquiring or owning firearms more difficult wasn't bad enough outright)
This is the often lied about "gun show loophole", which is not a loophole in any way, the laws are no different at a gun show than they are anywhere else or any time else within that state (or if they are different, they are more restrictive)

are these rounds unsafe to use? .40 S&W 165gr, so there's room but... over-pressure?
edit: specifically the top 4 in the pic. The next 5 I think are ok. The bottom one is seated correctly for comparison.
edit2: decided not to use the top 4 because I'm not trying to save 10 cents. lol. still want to know out of curiosity.

The pic alone probably isn't enough info to say for sure, either. Hell, shooting them and not getting a KB still might not be enough to say for sure that they are safe to shoot (could be a lot of additional wear/tear or could be the next one breaks something)
